It looks a takeover candidate to me, but then it has done
so for years - and would the government allow arguably
the most iconic name in UK retail to be taken out
by an overseas firm? - may be, but worth keeping in mind.

MKS is not of strategic importance to the UK, but there is arguably
a case of cultural significance and this government does not need
any more bad publicity.

I use Shell V power diesel every second tank fill, not sure if
it's worth it but have a Shell card and they are also
my energy supplier so usually get offers - they are not that generous though!.

details on the number of years this continues for.

So effectively they need to make £70 million in
pre tax, just to break even!.

TF I did not buy back in having made a nice gain last year,
had it on a watchlist and very nearly did - put that one
down to luck rather than judgement.

I really like MKS and shop at their Brooklands, Weybridge store frequently.

Ed, I think that £35 million is the post exceptional pre tax? -
having deducted the listing costs.

Current Full year estimates are at over £190 million,
but obvs they are estimates and those can change.

Not currently holding.

at the time of this post MKS is UP just over 62% in 12 months.

Perhaps that gives some context to your question.

that post and asked if anyone had an explanation for the
reduction in profit per plot seen over the last few years.

Land management is one part of the business, it's not
the entire company, but it is usually the most profitable.
