on takeovers.. remember that more that 60% of stock is controlled by around 300 entities and LTH PIs.... would have to be a heck of an offer to take control

@wombles ... just remember .. next years net post tax profit should be knocking on the door of 25% of current MCAP ! .... short term games aside, occasional big volatility aside, this share is only going up for the foreseeable future

6 weeks ago we were 28.. then went up to 50 (+79%).. now a fallen back 27%... so currently a net +31% in 6 weeks.

I suspect the strategy has already been agreed by the BoD, just an appropriate timing point to announce it. When FM said he expected to detail dividend plans by the end of the year I took that to have flex and if more appropriate to be Jan or Feb, then so be it. Its a longer term goal and I am not one who subscribes to the view it will make a great deal of SP difference right now. Its only when an actual payment is announced that some excited income hunters will get interested.

Just because a miner (junior or not) says it has a dividend policy, plans to return 20,25,30% of profit to shareholders, outlines profitability etc does not mean the lazy Fund holders get it. They are just as likely to see 'high risk mining' .

I would not necessarily read much into the fall back. There is a seasonal variation as stocks are being run down a bit and no one wants to hold stock over the christmas & new year period (just cash sat there otherwise). Fundamentally, in just Steel alone there is a significant enough structural deficit (lots of analysts over the past few months all say the same thing) and China is just really starting its new rebar regs requiring more vanadium content. (Note this will likely change upwards again as they still don't match US/EU strengths).

Then add in VFRB and growing interest in aerospace .... the price of Vanadium will likely pick up again in the new year. Some commentators are even talking $200/kg in 2019.

OK - you are absolutely correct that it is the same for everyone and while the Vanadium price is set to rise, the leasing model will work well, but if it looks like a substantial fall is coming (and personally I see that as 3+ years away due to new suppliers taking 2-3 years to get substantive plant up), then the residual value will drop making leasing (at that time) perhaps more of a challenge.

SGD27 - bear trap - I cannot agree but can well see why someone may ask the question. For me, the structural deficit and growth of VFRB will keep this baby driving for 2-3 years yet

spinning BE would not get my vote and would destroy the notion of vertical integration and turn Bushveld back into a one-product miner

@RK .. you mean the tab labelled "some other Bushveld Holdings" detailing the II's funds and director holdings .... the PI holding are listed on the first tab labelled "Bushveld Holdings" although I added 'PI' to clarify.

PI Holdings - all = 474,275,424 shares (42.36%), of which 301,568,771 (26.93%) are confirmed
II, Fund and Director holdings - 398,936,049 (35.63%)

So with Institutional holders and confirmed PI's a total of 62.5% are owned by 323 entities

@Raz10 .. if they want a JSE listing to start first open in Jan they need to get a move on ... also there is the small issue of where the shares come from (There is just no need surely with the cash generation for further dilution)
