@MaryBr190 and MikeM14,how kind of you both to spend so much time in assisting.I trade Iag RR and BP mostly.Since October I have traded 2 to 6 times a week.Sometimes I have sold at a loss.Sometimes I have sold to buy back at a higher price.I have absolutely no idea how I’m going to work it all out.Even with all your help,it’s beyond my capabilities.The profit I have made an overall profit of 4000.Looks like I’ll have to pay an accountant to work it out.Also any money from sales has stayed in the account and been re invested straight away.So although I deposited 43000 in the account,it shows as 47000 in the cost column and a profit of 250,when I have actually made a profit of 4000.

@JG68,I assume the 30 day rule does not apply to an Isa.I’ve been studying the Hmrc website...we have until January 2022 to work it all out!

Good morning all.I’ve read about CGT,and understood nothing.I’m a 10% tax payer .If I make a profit of 5k from selling my shares before 5 April,do I pay tax on it?I can’t understand about what’s stated re £12300 amount..ie is any gain under said amount tax free or not?
