I was reading about GE newish 260 meter windturbine the magnets alone weigh 7tons and the housing/casing for the rotor is 11 meters wide amazing.

Mick-B yep anything with green credentials seems to motor ahead atm. Wind PV energy is not really that green if you look at the rare earth metals which is in short supply it takes 1000 ton out of the ground to make small amounts.
