I emailed the company at the weekend but I have not had a response. The license was applied for on the 5/07/22, so 11 months ago. In the literature on the Namibian government website it states 6-12 months for a decision on a mining license. I’ve been checking the ecc (environmental compliance consultancy) website for news on an environmental clearance and there is nothing. Also nothing on the EIS library regarding an environmental impact assessment. I found that Alexandra Speiser carried out an environmental report for Virgo regarding license (5796) before Bezant acquired them. I emailed Ms Speiser and she said it should be on the MEFT DEA website but it isn’t. I have asked Bezant for a copy of the report and also a copy of the scoping study on hope and gorob and have had no response.

regarding mankayan Colin says they aren’t the type of people to give him updates, but Ronnie Siapno the president of cresent mining and development corporation is also a non executive director of Bezant. So I don’t believe Colin doesn’t get updates from him.

I’m my view we should have news about the hope and gorob license, the updated resource for an open pit at hope and gorob- since consultants were working there at the beginning of May. Financing news on hope, a preliminary resource at Kanye, the results must have been received by now ( according to Colin he had ‘ informal contact’ back in April regarding the results.

I would assume they want the options but they already know the results from the 150kg sample that was sent before the 100T sample. So they are in a closed period and aren’t allowed to exercise them, I see it as good news.

I did think the cash reserves were low and we would need a raise. I was hoping news from hope/ gorob / mankayan would lift the share price so we could raise at a higher price. They must have been desperate for the cash unfortunately.

I’m assuming that they will release a Environmental impact assessment report. Below is a link to an environmental report for our EPL 6605 which has interested and affected party comments. However our EPL 6605 is still pending after this report which was conducted in 2021. I have no idea why that license is taking so long to be renewed.

So with regards to EPL 5796, or more to the point ML 246 for hope and gorob. I don’t know what step in the process having the public meetings is, so an update on where we are would be useful. I’m assuming (just a guess) that they need an environmental clearance certificate for the mining license. But when I was reading back through an annual report I think it was- it said that they had an active ECC for the project. So some clarification would be nice, maybe prickly could ask at the next meeting.

Something to be aware of is that the project borders a national park, so whilst we aren’t in it we are still in an environmental sensitive area. If you look on the mining cadastre portal and look at the filters you can filter for environmentally sensitive areas. Maybe this is why they have to carry out a thorough report before a decision.

Anyway hope that makes sense and have a read through the EIA for EPL 6605- it’s 148 pages but definitely interesting.

Took a long time to load but on page 6 there is an advert in a newspaper which states an application will be made to the enviromental commisioner in terms of the enviromental management act and the enviromental impact assessment regulations. public consultation meetings were to be held on the 13th Jan 2023.

They updated the mining license contacts on the 13th March, before that was the 13th January.

However looking through the applications on that document a lot of them have been granted. On the mining portal it still has ML 246 as an application.

Type in hope in the search bar and you’ll see our prospecting licenses, scroll down and there’s an applications tab. Only information it gives is that it was applied for on the 5/07/22.

I have been checking the ECC website as I would imagine we would need environmental clearance for the license. I see ML 245 is pending an ECC.

Other than refreshing it every evening as that’s when it gets updated, all we can do is continue to be patient.

Sorry, Bad wording on my part. We didn’t pay anything to Caerus but it was accounted for in the accounts. 228k which wasn’t put into the joint venture.

289k cash in bank as of June 2022 which included (250k) of the 700k drawdown.

289k cash, 228k retained from fallout from caerus, 450k from the drawdown facility, minus 120k from funding mankayan. 847k roughly, not taking into account G&A costs. It’s only a rough guess, but I think a raise will be needed soon. Happy to be corrected.

They’ve already used 700,000 of the funding facility, cash reserves must be getting low now. Even if you add in the money which was recovered from Cyprus.

It states on page 6 of this document that feedback time for a mining license is 6-12 months. So we could be waiting until July.

It is the exploration licenses that have been granted. EPL 5796 has been renewed, EPL 7170 has been renewed. However our other EPL 6605 is still pending renewal. Mining license is still pending but was submitted 05/07/2022.

I found another interesting website with some documents relating to EPL 6605. We had heritage consent from 1st December 2021 until 30 November 2022, could be another reason things are delayed since they have to re apply 2 months before it expires. So September this year. Link is below.

Happy new year

I have been looking at the mining portal. I can see EPL 5796 have been renewed, EPL 7170 has been renewed. However our other EPL 6605 is still pending renewal. Could this be the reason that the mining license has not been granted yet?

I have found the EIA from October 2021, a month after our EPL 6605 license expired.

I wonder, because they have applied for a mining license instead of the EPL for 6605 if they now need an updated EIA for mining instead of exploration and that is why there is a delay.

I found the EIA interesting and never knew it bordered a national park before. Hope this is of interest to others
