Since you speak to Colin, do you know if the ECC committee have met yet? I’m assuming we will have an answer on the ECC anytime now this month or if not then possibly we will have to wait until May

On the cadastre portal, the application date is 05/07/22! So not far off 3 years now. I’ll link it below, click on the search box on the top right and put in ‘hope’ it will show the 3 EPL applications which have been granted. Directly below it says ‘applications- mineral rights’ click on that and Bezants 246 license has ‘pending ECC’ this has changed from pending.

This has the status of ‘ awaiting acknowledgement’ which we were told had been submitted in November 24.

Pure speculation on my part but we had an update in November, an update recently in january ( 2 months- coincidence?) so could be march or may as you say.

Do you remember when prickly and the others used

to hold the private bag meetings- Colin told us before in 2023 I think it was that they were looking to monetise them then haha!

I’ve asked Mike allardice for an update on the in house Kanye manganese resource estimate, what’s Halle if with mankayan, and I asked for an update on H&G shortly before we got the RNS last week.

The ministry meet every two months, so I personally cant see the license coming before march/ April, everything seems to take an age to get done in Africa. It doesn’t help that Colin says everything is ready to go and then kicks the can further down the road with something else that needs doing.

Mankayan we haven’t heard anything on, the PFS was supposed to be completed in 23/24, I’ve emailed IDM with no response, Mike allardice doesn’t respond anymore either.

I didn’t say it was in the 16th RNS, it’s in the November RNS. Perhaps read the RNS from the 15th November

On 16 October 2024 the Company announced that it has received the notice of preparedness of the granting of Mining Licence 246 for the Hope & Gorob copper - gold mining project (the "Mining Licence"). The Company has now submitted the written acceptance and is awaiting the formal statutory approval. The Mining Licence is subject to standard terms and conditions under the Minerals Act. In particular undertaking an Environmental Impact Assessment, formulating for the Ministry of Environment and Tourism approval an Environmental Management Plan Report within six months from the date of the issue of the Mining Licence, and ensuring representation of historically disadvantaged Namibians. Bezant is working actively to meet these requirements.

We did respond to the ministry, it’s in one of the recent RNS’. It’s probably the conditions we are re waiting for, Namibians employment, the ECC etc

A rising gold price has triggered an internal review of gold distribution within the Mineral Resource and some confirmatory drilling is planned for areas known for high gold grades.

As a result, the proponent commissioned the ESIA and appointed Environam Consultants Trading (ECT) to undertake the necessary activities to enable an application for an Environmental Clearance Certificate with the Environmental Commissioner as prescribed by the Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007) and Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (Government Notice No. 30 of 2012).

When Environam conducted the ESIA they applied for the ECC so I would have thought that it will come with the license once we have accepted the terms. How long that will take is anyone’s guess unfortunately

Irish and I had a bet back in April. I said I didn’t expect the license to be granted before Q4, he was adamant it was imminent. So just making sure he is true to his word.

The placing at a premium is a good sign for me, I do believe the license will be with us soon and now we have the money to wait. Positive news for once!
