Earthling, how do you "know" two main shareholders who would accept 80p?
Can only speak from personal experience of course but it's saved me a few times. Once in particular a few years ago was Avocet, I had quite a bit invested, it enabled me to take good profits and avoid a big loss.
Simple rules.
Don't lose money.
Stop Loss is a lifesaver; Profit taking is a wealthmaker.
SOLG is exceptional - hold until the credits roll.
GLA
Written with an environmentalists bias of course but, along with previous environmental statements, Solgold's interests seem to be relatively sound compared with others.

Thanks, pinot........they'll be right there at the front of the queue!
redknight1, I had already switched but kept some back in order to trade GGP, which is particularly working a treat today. I highly recommend it.
Another positive recommendation.
"In our opinion, it is worth taking a speculative look at SolGold's copper projects; in addition, 21.7 million ounces of gold and 92.2 million ounces of silver are also supplied. The timing of the investment fits exactly into the raw material revaluation, which has been reflected in market prices since March 2020. The SolGold price of the stocks listed in London, Toronto and Frankfurt has doubled since March, but SolGold's strong operational development is only just beginning."

schlemiel, as has been said before, it's pointless investing with a "wish I'd done this, wish I'd done that " mentality. The fact is , in my opinion, that potential with SOLG is far far superior to GGP. I'm trading GGP, in fact bought some this morning, but holding long and strong with SOLG. GL anyway.
SOLG is very much a buy and hold for a big payday for me, closest you will find to a certainty imo. Meanwhile, I see GGP as a useful trading opportunity.
Next few months will be exciting imo with so much news due and particularly if results from drilling at Porvenir and La Hueca are impressive. So much potential with SOLG.
schlemiel, I've experienced those frustrations in the past but after 30 years of investing in stocks and shares I have never, for a long time, allowed hindsight to enter my thoughts after buys or sells. As long as you are profiting and those profits go to good use, it's irrelevant regardless of the sums involved. Contentment is a very precious place.
I'm very content with my GGP profits, I didn't sell at the top but that's irrelevant. Hindsight should never enter your thoughts for investing, it's pointless. The fact is that the profits are real and now working here and elsewhere and they're not merely paper profits.
One thing's for sure, this is proving to be a traders dream just lately. I'm essentially a buy and hold investor but I do have a trading pot which has been very handy especially when the sp in London is lagging Madrid.

"The Ministry of Ecological Transition has decided to wait for the report from the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN) on the construction of the uranium concentrates plant of the Australian group Berkeley in Retortillo (Salamanca) to make a decision. The new CSN ??report will not be ready until the end of the year"
"According to sources familiar with the work, the ministry is carrying out an economic analysis of the situation and evaluating the possibility of the Australian mining company claiming the loss of profits from the State in the event that its plans are paralyzed"
"Berkeley has managed to put together an effective authorization shield......a legal trap that prevents, at least for the moment, that the Ministry of Ecological Transition of Teresa Ribera, the same one that has achieved a pact to close all nuclear plants in 2035 , closed the project"
"From their point of view, there are no reasons for the ministry led by Teresa Ribera to oppose the project because nothing has changed since the first authorization in 2015"
Yes, I bought some more. Delighted with 26.25 and equally happy with the profits taken from the unmentionable company.
Fwiw, I've taken the remainder of my profits in GGP. Some of it will go into more SOLG but I'll be keeping an eye out for trading opportunites with GGP.
GL all holders here, even the impatient ones ;o)
Rats? You clearly have no understanding of the Anglo Pacific business.
Apologies if this has been posted before.

"There are only three ways for us to secure the flow of dollars we need: exports, foreign direct investment and debt. We’ve clearly exhausted our capacity to take on debt – indeed we are currently trying to restructure our obligations. So that means we have to focus on exports and FDI – and mining generates both"
"We know that Ecuador has incredible geological resources but to attract international investment we need to provide companies with a fair business environment. The cadastre has been closed for too long but I guarantee it will be open before this government leaves office. Likewise, we are working with our fellow ministries to ensure that there are less delays in permitting mining projects"
hydrogen, plenty of opportunities around, e.g. I took some more GGP profits this morning in order to take advantage with BKY. Continue to be long and strong here and it's by far my largest holding. GLA
Sp moving up now and still rising in Madrid.
