Studies indicate the possibility of Santana port and future terminals receiving New Panamax ships, w25 Oct 2021 11:34
105,000T Anyone?! That would help the economies of scale somewhat nicely.
"On August 29, 2020, less than a month after the studies at USP, the CDSA received the first Panamax approved by the Navy, with two more cargo holds and capacity for up to 73 thousand tons.
The studies also indicated the possibility of the port and future terminals receiving New Panamax ships, with 105 thousand tons of capacity. They also confirmed that the Port of Santana could operate from sunrise to sunset, and not just for about an hour at low tide. Another discovery was the opportunity to operate 24 hours a day, as long as night beacons are implemented and adequate tugboats are used."
