Electric cars will get overtaken by hydrogen (easy conversion of reciprocating engines) and the hydrogen will come from water electrolysis done using electricity derived from massive deep sea wind turbines using oil platform technology doing the conversion at the point of collecting the energy at sea. The technologies are understood by the oil companies.
Looks as if FTSE might test 6000 or lower again, especially after a weekend contemplating the direction of travel

Le figaro also has an article posted about 30 mins ago but most is behind a paywall. However, the part that can be seen says 4 bids have been submitted by the deadline, from Generali, Macif, Eurazeo and Allianz/Athora. Apparently the Generali bid is for the whole of Aviva France (as would be the Macif and Allianz/Athora bids I assume). Don't know about Eurazeo. Seems to be a good base to leverage the price. An insurance industry version of 'Barbarians at the Gate' would be nice.
“Allianz back in the game”. Even I can understand that with my hopeless French. Can’t get the full article. Deadline for non binding bids is today. Maybe an RNS Monday but I’m not holding my breath.
Multiple bids would be nice

Hiscox up 3.3% now on what is a bad FTSE day
Hiscox up 2.5% on its RNS relating to this news
That was meant to be 348 - to used to prices starting with a 2!
Added at 248.8 also
Redceo, I waited until later in the morning to buy and got filled at 351.3 - you never want to join the opening rush of useless day traders - always buy at a discount to both FTSE and the AV. daily VWAP
In the same position Redceo - much better than the money sitting in a zero interest account
under £3? good luck with that
Rule # 1 - never ask for investment advice on these boards, everyone talks their own book
Well that was a good clear out - more to come
