The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Yesterdays RNS from Woodbois WOI stated they were divesting their timber business in Cabo Delgado - Where TGR assets are- Due to geo political reasons amongst others. TGR capitalised all the Battery spend just recently . Shishirs views would be interesting.
Having survived many investment misfortunes over the last 50 years , suddenly Lorna appears on my radar and gives me renewed hope for the future. She has great connections from Tullow etc and with only 6 employees under the BOD , she will need a lot of help.
I wish her well and all LTH`s
Jeremy Hunt spoke yesterday to the BBC about the Government putting extra funding from 2025 to support UK Manufacturing . Amongst support was £2bn for the automotive industry.
Quote from todays Daily Telegraph `His(JH) comments come as the Government prepares to publish its battery strategy next week, which will set out plans to encourage a `globally competitive battery supply chain in the UK by 2030`
I presume the Autumn Statement , due on Wed, will clarify.
Shishir has been lobbying UK ministers on supply (ex China) issues for some months.
Who knows , there may be something for TGR in this . GLA
The share deal with Bat arising from the Moz assets taken over from Bat was rejigged in April and TG faces a big potential stock overhang until early next year.
3.5 M the first tranche vested in 4/23 together with 2.0 M for I/P, second tranche 6.4 M vests in 12/23. Altogether 12 M - C 10% of shares in issue.
Bat results to 6/23 issued on 12/9 says the following ;
`Going Concern - Directors recognise that additional funding either through sale of TG shares and capital raising will be required for the Co to continue exploration etc....
BAT is a minnow - Cap $4.5M Aus and capital raise looks problematic.
There was a 200,000 share sale on TG on Friday at a price which stopped a rally on the week in its tracks. I think I shall wait till the New Year to raid the sofa for funds. Cannot see much movement in SP until overhang cleared.
This announcement due today of a battery plant in Somerset , heavily subsidised by HMG is exactly what Shishir was promoting when on a visit to London some time ago. He addressed the House of Commons Select Committee on the specific issue of the UK building battery making capacity using non Chinese raw materials. We are miles behind US/EU.
Hoping that TG are close to JLR/ Tata in developing some form of MOU to supply feedstock. Could be a game changer for the SP.
Great stuff Andii. My thoughts entirely.
Mozambique will be vital in meeting long term production targets. Recruitment of the right calibre of management to achieve those targets will be needed. I read of strikes in the industry and the industrial climate seems to be less benign in Mozambique.
Offtake deals to mitigate the funding issue seem to be gathering momentum .
I await with interest.
1Q update
Am a LTH - average about 50p.
This week will hopefully see Shishir raising the profile of what is a most unusual company. So far , Madagascar has shown what can be achieved with a talented and well motivated team, overcoming problems by designing solutions themselves.
