Mikodx, the government can’t simply “ go for herd immunity”.

For diseases, herd immunity can go into effect when 40 percent of the people in a population become immune to the disease, such as through vaccination. But in most cases, 80 to 95 percent of the population must be immune to the disease to stop its spread.

So it’s not a feasible consideration at the moment.

However, until then we it’s great to know we have an accurate antibody test - step in ODX.

I believe the Superdrug £69 test is an Antibody test which they claim to 97% accurate..
It has been slated as being ideal for the curious mind but useless (sky news) as put simply we have not been able to confirm, as yet, whether we have antibodies.

Since first thing this morning the majority of us have believed that this was a great RNS and great news.

So please why hasn't the share price risen in line with expectation ?

Sparticus, having just come in and unable to read all of this mornings the 629 posts I was about to ask the same question as Trajan.

So is it suggested that the price did not escalate at first trading this morning ( as many of us expected ) because the sells out weighed the buys and NOT because that the market was not happy with the RNS ?

the Placing and allocation of those shares at 80p {I'm a holder but unsuccessful in the allocation } when received on 28th May , no doubt a number will be sold.

Can anyone , from experience, give an indication of the expected temporary price GDR will fall to on that day.

Just considering all options before I top up further .

Will priority in the placing be given to existing share holders?

I am a holder and have been for some months.
I bought my shares through my bank.

Anyway, on Wednesday my bank had no knowledge of the placing and could not facilitate my application.
I therefore turned to Hargreaves L who were able to duly process my application.

Do you think I’ll be disadvantaged by not applying through my bank who have a record of my holding or are there other ways of checking who holds or who doesn’t .?

Release of a RNS can clearly be made at any time of the day - Genedrive (GDR) released theirs at 5pm last Monday.

Absolutely right, there is a place for both tests but the antibody test cannot and will not be a precursor for the eventual vaccine.
Currently, we believe the virus has the ability to mutate so a fixed antibody test would not be relevant.
Current understanding is that if that if you test positive as having had it today, it does not mean you won’t get it again tomorrow.., next week, next month, we don’t know.
Annually in excess of 20million Flu vaccines are administered in this country at a cost of £9 per vaccine . Why don’t we conduct flu antibody tests prior to vaccination, ? because it’s a virus and
it mutates constantly. Again, this is the current belief with C19.
Each year the flu vaccine differs, hence the reason we need inoculation annually and don’t test.
