Yes Rod, I remember those stories about the call centre staff.. many of them will be on lower wages than the engineers. I was focusing on the back office and support staff who tend to be C grades and above whereas the engineers are B grades. There is an A grade too but I’m not sure what they do, probably photocopy or mail room staff.

I think you’ll find 99% of the office workers will be on more money than the engineers..

You can almost guarantee that BT will be hovering over the button to take TT out any time now… then hoover up their customer base. They have previous form under the BT Cellnet umbrella when they simply took over Mobile Service Providers that couldn’t pay their bills..

Seems more of a wholesale to commercial customers who BTB and Global would serve and not Openreach. Fleccy may have more information but 5.5 Gig to retail customers is plain daft… I think the article may be misleading and breaking Ofcom rules imo.

As many as 15,000 Fibre rollout engineers have been given their notice to leave a month ago. Dates range between now and December 2026 depending on how far the build is in their area.
