RT003: Wow! Huge hats off to you for your quite uncanny prediction! I know you were talking principally about the AZ vaccine, but your post at 11.04 am today was spookily accurate and well timed. You are a true share prophet/profit !! I was lucky enough to buy TUI at a recent low, having watched the Covid-19 antibody/antigen testing investors squabble like mad. I thought that TUI was the best proxy for ANY serious roll-out of vaccine or testing programme. GLA!
KahunaJim and Silles: Well said and well done both. Saddened that the combination of the vaccine news/problems on trading platforms/LSE bulletin-boards crashing has led to a lot of folk selling.
Antibody testing will be mandatory prior to any vaccine roll-out. Superb opportunity to gather some more ODX whilst the price is depressed. Anthony Bolton, the former star fund-manager for Fidelity, refers to what he calls "a mulligan", a second chance to pick up cheap shares. GLA and keep safe!
Barclays, Hargreaves-Lansdown reported to be badly affected. My platform Lloyds operated poorly but occasional windows allowing one to get in. Wonder how IG, HSBC, A.J. Bell did?
mac4671: Thanks for that link. I have in my diary a note about a Battery Show USA/Germany from 10-12th November. I think this Battery Show may be in addition to the World Economic Forum sessions on the green revolution. So much happening and thrilled to see EMH getting a well deserved uplift.
Well done everybody! Good luck and keep safe.
CZLi- Would like to add special thanks to you, CZLi, for your posts. You obviously have a very close-at-hand experience and interest in Cinovec. It's been VERY helpful to have your special insights. Well done and thank you.
Most gratifying that, at long last, EMH is being talked about. Interesting that, until recently, none of Rodney Hooper, Howard Klein nor Joe Lowry mentioned Cinovec/CEZ/EMH. BUT, in a recent interview, Gerrit Fuelling did mention Cinovec as the only viable European hard-rock deposit. Fuelling is a former chemical engineer with Rockwood/Albemarle and thus understands the science. Fuelling has followed Cinovec/EMH for some time.
Ivan's Youtube Podcast has obviously sparked interest. The likely election of Joe Biden to the US Presidency would be an added spur in terms of serious support for EV activity globally.
All in all, the wake-up calls are now sinking in. It will be very interesting to see how a Czech Listing would move things on. Once again, my profound thanks to Fingers, Sid, Lawrence and the other brilliant posters on this Board. GLA and keep safe.
Theosus: Thanks so much for going to considerable trouble to script the recent Q and A. Feeling very encouraged, despite large market turbulence. As always, thanks to you, Chester, for your ever valuable input. GLA and keep safe.
Jimb2 and others: Thanks very much, jimb2, for your link to the podcast by the International Energy Agency (broadcast 13/10/20). Fascinating listening. The IEA is advised by top energy experts. Key points as far as our Lithium interest is concerned:
1) Whilst Solar is likely to become the king of renewables, major issue about investment in electricity grid infrastructure/battery storage.
2) EVs will need to play a significant part in our personal transport choices. 20 times increase in number of EVs over next 30 years.
3) Massive focus required in Hydrogen, Low Carbon Fuels, Battery Storage, Carbon Capture.
The Executive Director's final words bear repeating: "There are no short-cuts: only profound changes, guided by good policies, can deliver a better energy future. There is a choice- for citizens, companies, but most of all governments."
Very interesting to hear of CEZ's sale of their wind plants. As you all know, CEZ is 70% owned by the Czech State. Are we seeing the beginnings of a smart Czech Government leaning heavily into electricity-grid restructuring (including, one presumes, EV recharging) and battery storage?
With the high scientific intelligence of a leader like Angela Merkel (she has a doctorate in Quantum Chemistry), the German Government is likely to be smart about these issues and they will surely be pressing their highly regarded motor manufacturing OEMs to respond.
I continue to be excited by EMH's potential. The wide spreads on the SP tell me that the smart money is holding fast. GLA and keep safe.
Lazygun: The document published on Erris' Website states:
1) EGM at 10am on Monday, October 26th.
2) "Record Date" for shareholders closes at 6pm on Tuesday, October 27th.
3) ZNWD shares admitted to market at 8am on Thursday, October 29th.
Please correct me if I am wrong. GLA.
Rpks: Nice find, thank you! I've followed all of Howard Klein, Rodney Hooper and Joe Lowry, all of whom follow the Lithium market closely. This is the very first time I have heard any of these three mention CEZ/ Cinovec specifically. I get the strong impression that these three are very familiar with events outside Europe, but not, as yet, tuned into Europe. I have heard them mention the collaboration between VW and Genfang and they have made general comments about how the major Motor Car OEMs worldwide need to wake up and get the Lithium plot or die!
Anyway, thanks once more to all you brilliant posters and who who keep up such close surveillance for all our sakes. Fantastic job! GLA and keep safe.
This is silly cheap, surely? I guess some folk are FOMO with regard to other frothy pharma and mining shares. Bought another £10K worth today at 48 pence. The RNS was essentially good news and I can see the FDA being under some pressure to pay due attention to the myriad other medical conditions from which folk suffer, apart from Covid-19. GLA and stay safe!
Watching2: Yes, absolutely ! I've done two naso-pharygeal swab tests so far. It was bad enough doing it to oneself, let alone having it done to you! There's already been one case of perforation of the meninges, leading to a leak of cerebro-spinal fluid, which can lead to meningitis!! This naso-pharyngeal approach leads to the ethmoid sinuses which lie perilously close to actual brain structures including the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland.
Saliva is the obvious way forward, taking an oral swab which you then put into a test-tube, or dribbling into a little test-tube, the test-tube containing a specially formulated stabilizing solution. If the main aim is to identify folk who are actively infectious, then saliva samples from the oral mucosa should be adequate.
Metaltiger- A big welcome to you ! As you can see, we have a very civilized Board, with some great contributors like Chester and Thordon. I have been an enthusiast for TRX for some time and was lucky enough to participate in the 0.25 pence cash-call. Interestingly, at that time, some folk were very concerned that the SP would collapse below the 0.25 pence level. Well, it never did. I think its lowest point was just over 0.3 pence. I am so pleased to see the SP holding up well.
TRX has had some real problems in the past, but I sense a new-found stability and commercial purpose and a very solid Board of Directors. It has an excellent range of products which will bring in dividends once the World can return to elective surgery when Covid-19 is reined-in.
I have followed a number of Richard Griffiths' investments over many years. On the whole, he is very smart. Lombard Odier Asset Management (LOAM) tend to follow him into his chosen equities. Griffiths tends to be a loyal investor to his choices- he doesn't jerk around with buys/sells.
For me TRX is a very good long hold. I think that, eventually, we will have a share consolidation of either a 10 into 1, or even a 100 into 1 share. The now very ebullient Avacta (AVCT) did a 100 into 1 consolidation in early 2016, from 6.7 Billion shares into 67 Million and look at them now !! Indeed, I think it is quite likely that, with the San Antonio Texas facility, a US major will make a bid for TRX.
So, very good luck and keep safe in these very difficult times.
I see TUI as a proxy for Covid-19 rapid antigen testing and the eventual roll-out of a vaccine. I'm sure that many of you are well aware of the several companies (including excellent British ones) working hard on developing the former. There are nine vaccine projects in Phase III Trials. Three are Chinese. The Western vaccines are being developed by some very big pharma names. Two Western projects (Astrazeneca/Oxford Jenner Institute and Johnson and Johnson) have reported pauses owing to the need to investigate possible side effects. Some virologists/epidemiologists are sceptical about vaccines that are being pushed through at such unusual speed.
As a retired medic, I follow the science quite carefully. There are still many known unknowns about Covid-19 including how long antibody immunity may last and what effects, and for how long, T-Cell immunity may last after infection. For me, high quality (high sensitivity/specificity) point-of-care (on-the-spot-don't need lab-testing) antigen testing (tells you if you have Covid-19 NOW) probably using saliva with results given within 20 minutes would be a game-changer.
I don't want to be complacent, but the so-called "Spanish Flu" Pandemic, which was caused by an H1N1 virus (NOT Coronavirus), started in March 1918, had three phases ( the worst being the second between October and December 1918) and was fizzling out by March 1919. I am hopeful that, with the combination of rapid antigen testing, eventual vaccines and the potential development of treatments (Remdesivir/ Dexamethasone/ Beta-Interferon already in use), Covid-19 can be reined in. The ultimate treatment is monoclonal-antibodies which are showing great promise.
From a human-behavioural point-of-view, I think there will be a growing frustration that our lives are being so repressed by the virus and consequent lock-downs that the appetite for holidays will grow.
I believe that the German Government will remain supportive of one of its national Brands, of which it is very proud. I hope for some sort of Brexit Deal. I remain on the alert in case TUI has to declare a Rights Issue to bolster its fundamentals. All in all, in my opinion only, the future for TUI is positive. GLA and please keep safe.
Encouraging noises from Erris (ERIS) today. Subject to confirmation at EGM on October 26th, ERIS is renamed Zinnwald Lithium PLC, ticker ZNWD, as 50% owner of the already licensed Zinnwald Lithium project, adjacent to Cinovec. Bacanora (BCN) will occupy one Board position. Anton du Plessis to be CEO. As I have already intimated from du Plessis' history, he is very well connected in the banking world and has great experience of mineral resources. Repeating myself, but I see this as a great positive for EMH. Any due diligence by potential financiers of the Zinnwald project will draw attention to the much larger Cinovec project. The European elite will be more attracted to invest in these adjacent large hard-rock Lithium deposits if there is activity at both sites. ERIS shares up 26% today and EMH lifting, too.
This is all coming together very nicely indeed for EMH. Keith Coughlan playing things out very well behind the scenes. For me, this is a Warren Buffett-like opportunity. I can't quite believe that we are still under the radar, but that will change. Excited for the long-term and thanks so much again to all the brilliant posters who keep on linking us to all the latest news. GLA!
I believe that there are four US medical centres involved in the assessment of Parsortix for metastatic breast cancer, one US centre for pelvic mass/ovarian (U. of Rochester) and one US centre for colo-rectal (U. of Texas, MD Anderson). AGL has had a collaboration with Abbott since February, 2018. Newland has made a special effort to maintain excellent communication with the FDA. I cannot believe that the FDA would be denegrate its reputation with blatant pork-barrel politics; the FDA would soon lose international credibility. AGL is already heavily internationalised with work on Glioblastoma at U. of Basel; Melanoma at U. of Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany, and U. of Perth, Australia; Small-cell lung carcinoma at U. of Vienna; Prostate at St. Barts, London; Non small-cell lung carcinoma at Hellenic Oncology Research Group; Renal cell carcinoma at Milan, Italy; Head and neck squamous-cell carcinoma at U. of Birmingham, UK. Thus, the present submission for Parsortix use in metastatic breast cancer is just the beginning of potentially very wide-ranging applications.
I sense that the FDA may be under some pressure to facilitate approval for medications/technologies NOT related to Covid-19 as the collateral damage to patients with non-Covid conditions is, sadly, growing massively, particularly for life-threatening conditions such as cancer. GLA and keep safe.
Antelope: I think there's a complicated deal/restructuring going on with the Zinnwald prospect. It sounds like Erris has suspended its shares and is planning a re-launch under the new name Zinnwald Lithium PLC. My guess is that Anton du Plessis may make a move on the ?50% owned by Deutsche Lithium. Du Plessis is very well connected financially and will make noises which will be heard. That has to be a good thing for EMH.
Mrcautious: AIM can be a nightmare, as Neil Woodford and his victims found to their great cost. Ethical investing to me has two aspects:1) Choosing companies whose exploits will benefit society in general. 2) Finding companies whose dealings are essentially honest and above board. Forgive me if this sounds pious. I'm gratified that AIM has been pulled into focus after years of neglect. There are many worthy AIM companies and I think that EMH is one of these. I am amazed that Keith Coughlan has managed to limit the share dilution, normally a huge problem for investors (maybe not unethical as such, but very depressing!). Share dilution is now hitting some of the FTSE giants, IAG and RR. being two very recent examples and major oilers, banks, insurance companies, airlines, cruise and holiday giants have collapsed dividends, upon which many decent folk rely for their income. Whatever one's choice, investing is definitely for grown-ups. Huge learning curve and I'm not going to let failures eat my heart out, nor blame anyone else. Just sooooooo grateful to Fingers and many others on this board who maintain the most fantastic surveillance, and a board where everyone behaves respectfully to one another. Now that is a rarity among AIM boards !! GLA and stay safe.
It's going to be fascinating to see how things develop for Europe. There have been some quite big sells over the last several days and I suspect that investors are taking a look at Bacanora (BCN) following Musk's talk of developing the 10,000 acres in Nevada (clay deposit) and his rather exaggerated claim about achieving mining processing with sodium chloride. I sold out of BCN a short while ago, mainly on ethical grounds- there are major issues about water and energy husbandry.
Hitherto, the German motor manufacturers have relied on LG Chemical and Panasonic to keep up supply. One big take-away from recent world developments is supply-chain length. Processing to useable lithium needs to happen local to the mines to reduce cost of shipping heavy raw ore. Lithium Hydroxide doesn't travel well, so "local" will become the byword.
Motor manufacturers have not had to consider issues about the upstream supply, not since the days of Henry Ford who bought up iron-ore mines and rubber plantations to guarantee supply. That's going to change. Klein and Hooper were very clear that some automobile OEMs are going to be have to wake up, or die! Whilst the German mind-set can be conservative, the German Government takes huge pride in its national brands. It's just offered TUI a soft loan to keep it off the rocks. Angela Merkel has a Ph.D. in quantum chemistry, so top leadership is smart. There's just no way that they will let German motor car OEMs founder. There may be some environmental issues to be overcome, but economic pragmatism will win out.
I take Erris' new interest in the Zinnwald deposit as a positive. Anton du Plessis is financially very smart and very experienced in resource issues. I am excited by the prospects for EMH. GLA.
Intrusivethought: Many thanks indeed for the link to the Merck news. I have never given up on Merck. Their initial collaboration announced in August, 2016, was primarily for their lab in Massachusetts (Edelman was located nearby). Most encouraging to hear of the new Darmstadt facility. Hanging in there and bought some more Friday morning. GLA and keep safe!
Iaintittle: So many thanks for your link to the Klein/Hooper youtube. This is an absolute MUST SEE video. There is a real focus on the supply constraints on lithium (and nickel is mentioned, too) and the potential devastating effects these constraints may have on motor manufacturers who get left behind (likened to the demise of Kodak, Nokia, Blackberry in the domain of the smartphone/camera). Klein and Hooper reckon that Volkswagen has woken up, but Ford/GM lagging and no mention of BMW and Daimler-Benz.
In his last words, Klein specifically mentions that the lithium miners are grossly undervalued and compares these modest valuations ($50-$100 M market cap) to a rare-earths mining company in California which has grown over the last several years to a market cap of $3.3 Billion.
Klein and Hooper are serious observers of the lithium market. Yes, they are paid to promote particular mining companies, but their overall take on the market is very well researched and their conclusions are intelligent and rational. A very impressive summary and very, very exciting for the likes of EMH.
