Lateral flow replacing PCR20 Sep 2021 21:10
Watching this board over the last week is getting very painful with the trolls.
All the LTH shareholders have done a lot of research and Avacta must be one of the most researched companies on Aim.
Nothing is concrete until a RNS lands but this last few days with the news of Lateral flow tests replacing expensive PCR at airports.
Now this a fantastic opportunity for the most accurate and UK made test to step into the PCR tests shoes.
Just look at the stats before the pandemic.
Passengers at top 12 UK airports 2019 before Covid.
Heathrow 80,890,031
Gatwick. 46,576,473
Manchester 29,397,357
Stanstead 28,124,292
Luton 18,216,207
Edinburgh. 14,737,497
Birmingham 12,650,607
Bristol. 8,964,242
Glasgow 8,847,100
Belfast. 6,278,563
Liverpool. 5,045,991
Newcastle. 5,045,991
Now that’s over 250 million tests a year and that’s just passengers
Now employees on Airport sites.
Heathrow 76,000 people work at the airport.
Manchester 19,000 people work at the airport.
Luton 12,500 people work at the airport.
Gatwick 6,000 people work at the airport.
Stanstead 1,600 people work at the airport.
That’s 115,000 people employed in just the top five airports in the UK.
All tested at least twice a week that’s another 12,000,000 tests.
All these tests will be bought by paying public and companies not cheap Chinese rubbish the UK gov are giving away.
With AS mentioning talking to a Airline, I hope he is also talking to the the Airports.
Then we have cruise industry, railway industry major blue chip employers
all wanting accurate tests.
