An investigation by The Times has found that medical companies have charged the NHS inflated prices for ventilators. The government paid Excalibur Healthcare Services £135 million to supply 2,700 ventilators, at £50,000 each, £40,000 above the usual price. Three weeks earlier another company had provided the same model of VG70 ventilator for £8,800.

Excalibur, which is owned via a secretive offshore structure based in the Isle of Man, said that the fees were due to a surge in competition. As of last year the Isle of Man company was owned by a trust, of which “discretionary beneficiaries include Chris Evans and members of his close family”, company filings show.

I have a friend works for Network Rail
He said they have been buying Excalibur for last few months. But have stopped now.
2 reasons:
First employees complaining very uncomfortable.
Second UK Gov are about to provide free tests to company.

I would love to find out who the company is that is going to supply the government.

So we could receive Mologic CE any day now but they would want Avacta on the test boxes or Mologic name so probably wait for our CE if it’s only a week or so.
My take on the Mologic which has got every one baffled including the noisey neighbours why did they step down production.
Could it be they are receiving a fee to step aside with a Avacta collaboration for a new test. ????

Our next key milestone is full clinical validation and CE marking of our lateral flow antigen test which we anticipate will be around the end of this quarter and I look forward to updating the market when that milestone is achieved."

So he is saying here that he will update the market when both the Validation & CE are done.
Not when just one is complete.

So my opinion is Validation is complete and the rise this week is a little bit of leaky leaky,
Let’s face it if you were paying a hospital to validate tests for you, I would be asking for a daily report on results so far.

To me the validation done test works.

The next part they can’t do nothing about.
Accreditation inspection half complete with 1st half Dec 2020 BSI Group and they have a date for end of March for final inspection.

Avacta Diagnostics Division expects ISO13485 accreditation around end of March 2021
 
Avacta's Diagnostics Division is currently in between the two audits of the Group's Quality Management System that are required by its external auditor in order to award ISO13485 accreditation.
 
Medical device manufacturing is a highly regulated sector in which stringent quality systems and product performance requirements must be satisfied. These regulatory requirements are intended to ensure that manufacturers consistently design, produce and place onto the market medical devices that are safe and fit for their intended purpose. ISO13485 certification provides a practical foundation for diagnostics and medical device manufacturers to address these regulatory requirements and obligations of the industry as well as demonstrating a commitment to device safety and quality.
 
The Diagnostics Division has established a Quality Management System and the first external audit by the Group's Notified Body[2] (BSI Group) was passed in December successfully. The second and final audit is scheduled for March 2021. A positive outcome of the second audit will lead to ISO13485 accreditation. This certification sets the organisational and operational framework for all current and future diagnostic product developments and it is an essential accreditation that underpins future commercial success.

So UK Gov and manufacturing partners would of all been informed of date sometime end of March after final inspection

If anyone was still in any doubt wrt Avacta’s ground breaking Affimer platform, then we got further proof today of its enormous applicability & potential across numerous diagnostics & therapeutic sectors.

Here Biokit, A Werfen Company, a world leading in vitro diagnostics OEM, has licensed #AVCT’s Affimer reagents to detect a key analyte (eg biomarker in blood/saliva). In return Avacta will receive royalties on future sales of any products brought to market, following regulatory approvals.

Interestingly too, Biokit, A Werfen Company also manufacturers rapid IVD tests for Syphilis, Glandular fever, Toxoplasmosis & Rheumatoid arthritis. Possible other avenues to explore in due course.

Meaning that all-in-all, when added to #AVCT’s other 3rd party licensing/research agreements – eg Daewoong Pharma, Astrea BioSeparations, LG Life Sciences, Point Biopharma, ADC Therapeutics, Moderna, etc. Then this whole royalty area could ultimately become a major income stream on its own.

All fascinating topics that I hope to explore on Vox Markets next week with CEO Alastair Smith.

Most small companies that get taken out by Big Pharma have one maybe two very promising drugs in early stage. Big Pharma then billions buying and years to bring them to market.

Multi National Diagnostics companies:
Affimers you can knock them up in weeks for a target, then these companies would probably get the finished article on the market in 12 to 18 months.

Therapeutics
Affimers with the state of the art delivery methods Avacta has partnered and developed these would be the Holy Grail for Big Pharma, with every new collaboration it’s going to costs these buggers more.
I ain’t top slicing, because I don’t think we will see Avacta make it without a big offer taking us out.
In the next 2 years.
But it’s going to cost them and we will all retire.
