RE: EXTREMELY INTERESTING comment in the CNBC article !11 Oct 2022 19:18
AC777.
And now Amarican Airlines is 3% up.
If you read the article it said they now expect:-
"Revenue for the three months ended Sept. 30 will be up 13% from the same period of 2019, when it brought in $11.91 billion, the carrier said. That guidance is an increase from its July forecast for a 10% to 12% rise.".
So it was expected to be 10 to 12% but bow they think 13%.
Also and far more important the article says this:-
"While revenue will likely be above 2019 levels, the carrier said it flew 9.6% less than three years ago, near the low end of its range — another demonstration of how passengers are paying more to fly.".
So although they had 9.6% less passengers than 2019 they are going to get MORE revenue. Obviously they are charging and getting far more in the form of fares than they were in 2019!! Presumably about 13%! Music to IAG investors ears as we know BA have had loads of flights from Heathrow cancelled. Clearly assuming the same story for them as American they could be getting 13% MORE money in than in 2019.......... Something the brokers are not likely to have anticipated I think.
All IMHO.
