Key conclusions of the SHTG assessment relevant to the Genedrive® CYP2C19 ID kit were as follows:

· Using the Genedrive® CYP2C19 ID Kit to identify clopidogrel resistance was resource saving from year two onwards and would also prevent 961 recurrent strokes over a 5-year period and save NHS Scotland approximately £18 million;

And utter rubbish posted on these boards. Highly amusing. However the RNS today has addressed some grey areas that were in the NICE report some weeks ago. Mainly about the use of the Gendrive machine instead of using the "lab". As most honest posters had already realised the speed, the fact that a blood draw is not needed etc... means the Gendrive machine is the way to go. No doubt at all. The sp must go North from here, surely!!

Not privy to seeing this report before publication. An official RNS needs to be cleared before publication and so there was an understandable delay with the RNS. Very good news indeed from NHS Scotland. The lab test option is often too slow. From the RNS:-
