The SHTD report says testing for the gene variants would1 Nov 2024 14:35
Save Scotland’s NHS almost £20,000,000 over five years. More one presumes if that is extended to 6,7,8,9 years etc...
So, what method to use?
The lab method or Genedrive's machine?
Lab method needs a blood draw. Then the sample needs to get to the lab. If the lab is in the hospital as one presumes some are then the result might be back later same day if you are lucky. If the lab is 50 miles away, then one presumes we are talking days before the result is received. No good at all.
Genedrive method. No blood draw, just cheek swab. Result in around an hour. Cheaper unless the lab is testing numerous samples at the same time which seems highly unlikely. Also, the Genedrive reactive agents can be stored at room temperature, so no freezer needed for storage.
There is no comparison. The Genedrive machine wins hands down with ease.
All IMHO.
