It does in circulating tumour cells (CTC's) as they ARE the cancer. Angle's Parsortix to catch the CTC's, and Illuminas DNA sequencer would give far more information!

For patients, whose cancer has already metastasized or is about to. Angle have said as much. Circulating tumour cells are only present in the blood stream at this point. Therefore, patients whose cancer is at this stage could have their circulating tumour cells analysed. The amount caught would give an indication of how bad the situation might be. Then Angle's "dual analysis" (CtDna plus CTC DNA analysis) could be used to identify any biomarkers that the cancer might have. Some modern cancer drugs can target biomarkers and so the cancer itself. Dual analysis gives about twice the chance of finding cancer biomarkers. So, I see the main hospitals having a Parsortix machine and Illumina DNA sequencing machine to do the analysis. Illumina are already working with Angle, as we know………

Building on a successful trial at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, newborn babies will receive a point of care genetic test to quickly establish whether they are one of the 0.2% at risk of permanent hearing loss if they are treated with a common emergency antibiotic. This programme will begin in October and be rolled out to all Territorial Boards within 18 months. Once fully adopted over 3,000 newborn babies a year will be tested, with those that require an alternative antibiotic receiving it.
