cheers, jona. Dangerous trying to pick bottom, but dollar has too much to get through IMO. As well as 7644, there's the 200sma and R3 at 7656. ps noticed you have the weekly and daily trendlines on your 5min. Did you have to draw them in or can you copy over objects from higher timeframes?

nice DB as I typed and 20 pips up. Trouble is, not much in the way of landscape to place stop under. I'll go for just under prior low, s2 and weekly trendline at 868.

morning all. Only one small punt today as varnishing doors. Euro long off 890. It's broken daily trendline, but not the weekly. The Dollar hasn't closed and confirmed above 76.44 since March so some heavy resistance there. If it pushes above that it's look out below for the Euro.

quick 4 points from 1862. Off to the country house to pick the last of the peaches. Yummy, but no damn internet out there. See yous tomorrow.

Gold nearly at my target. 1862 and I'm sure it will be sold into.

Dollar gap fill on the upside...now for the trip South. Nicely brought the FTSE back down to 5290 yet again...160 points swinging that range today.

jona - got the re-test on the 10min trendline I drew (- http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/8602/eurusdretest.jpg Using a similar setting to everyone else - 20ema, 40ema, 200sma and ema, fib levels, weekly pivots and good old s/r. Going to try out a few new MAs and BBs I read about on lower timeframes. They link in with fib levels. Unfortunately I've forgotten which box my folders are in and i don't remember what they are! Think they were 5,8 (also used for middle of Bollinger) and 13. I'll let you know if any good.

jona - so far, so good, but the winter is meant to be pretty bleak...Quick question - you've talked about using Heike-ashis. Forgive my ignorance, but is that a fancy term for candlesticks? i.e engulfing, piercing etc... Noticed you used that on a 5min chart yesterday - how's the success rate with that? Read somewhere that candles on shorter timeframes are less reliable unless wide range on heavy volume. And another question (there will be many more, I'm afraid) - how to access real-time data on volume? I can only get volume on end of day pro-realtime, which ain't the best for day trading. Thanks in advance.

oh, christ - don't even want to think of it - was a care home manager in past life. Got a couple of properties in Bulgaria so can live rent free, plus living costs pretty cheap. Bought enough time to study the markets for next 3 years. Year 4 I need to start turning a profit so should be OK if I put my head down and stop trying to scalp Crude. LOL.

Actually quit my job and relocated to Bulgaria (wife is Bulgarian), so drove a van with all our stuff through Europe and still renovating our apartment. Bit of a culture shock, but as long as I have the internet I'm a happy bunny.

Not expecting much from the indices today. Dow hit 11444 level perfectly last night (old gap resistance), and FTSE 5376 resistance so may consolidate in 5290 - 5370 range before pushing on to re-test 5450.

yep, Gold long going nicely. Gap fill target 1862. Crude is a dangerous beast. Fakeout last night followed by a gap down. Actually in an ascending wedge rather than the ascending triangle I pointed out yesterday, so a slightly bearish slant and a continuation pattern so further falls possible. Could break either way, though, so won't trade until direction clearer.

thanks for the welcome, farmer. Still getting my desk built and screens set up. Currently trading with one tiny screen resting on a box and the keyboard on my knee. ps Crude looking bullish again. Trying to break out of an ascending triangle and could go on to test its broken trendline, 200ma etc... in the 9500 region.
