like to see the comparisons with Lihir - 'Interpretation is that the “mineralised corridor” is a copper porphyry-epithermal gold system
that may host porphyry copper at depth and bonanza gold in fractures and veins at intermediate
depth. The view that Manus Island has the potential to host Lihir style gold mineralization has
led to application being made by the Joint Venture for a new tenement over an expanded area
surrounding the existing granted tenement, EL1326' One 'slight' difference - Newcrest paid $9.5bn for Lihir, and will only have to fund A$6m for their stake of Manus. Maybe we can push for a bit more than that?
as far as I know Newmont already had 10%, but didn't know it was at 5p! The Newcrest article looks like it has some new info, unless I am being slow (again!). 8.08gpt gold from 72.33m (including 0.55m at 15.55gpt gold) - could be a monster! The second hole looks to have been in the wrong place, but we obviously need more than 2 to model the resource. ps Trading certainly looking perky today.
with Thornaby still selling, a placement due, and a likely 100% retracement, probably not the best time to buy IMO. But some very promising projects - drilling hasn't even started on the Newcrest JV, but trenching is yielding 303 g/t Au over 2m. The only way to keep our stake in the JVs is dilution, but not much will be needed straight away. I posted this earlier - Only the Barrick JV will need equity funding next year (and not too much either) - '2011 budget under review but may be A$0.5M, TPJ plans to contribute its share to avoid further dilution'. The Newmont JV is a free carry till 2014. If it strikes big TPJ's sp should be enough to provide a fair share to fund to production and keep 25-30% of all the ££s. Crater Mountain - 'minimum non-dilutable share of 10% up to feasibility stage.' Newcrest JV, a free carry until decision to mine. So paying off debts and operating cash a priority at the mo. ATB.
thanks for your view. need a few clues about resource size from solg imho. her - researched that last march, but didn't buy in to my annoyance. will have a look at thor. Thanks.
dump half explains the fall. The rest is dowm to day traders and PIs bailing after a quick buck IMO. Will this go north after Thornaby have cleared? Well, lets hope there's some good news before the first placement. Their backs are against the wall, so could at 1p unless a boost is forthcoming.
