Perhaps you can point me to a reference point for your statement that a mining licence trumps an exploration licence? It struck me as an odd statement to make and I am not aware of anything in the mines and minerals act that says that.

That is a very valid point about Kopara's share which I hadn't considered in the current cadastre updates. How does Anglo apply for a licence related to JV with ARC, when Kopara own a portion of that licence area? Can anyone cinfirm when the Fwiji licence expired? The fact that the Fwiji licence was removed to allow Anglo to apply for the area suggested to me that it was within the remit of the JV but I hadn't considered the Kopara angle fully.

The announcement says Vas currently works for Arc as well as FRG and now KEN.

Anglo Exploration Zambia is a subsidiary of Anglo American. It is not the name of the JV company but the company that ARC is in negotiations with to form a JV. Anglo Exploration Zambia own many assets and have many other licences that have nothing to do with ARC.
As far as I'm aware the additional licence area that Anglo Exploration Zambia have applied for, which came to light yesterday, used to be part of the Kalaba Extension licence (some years ago).

I think it was in an interview, where I only listened to bits of it to see if there was any news on investments. I got the impression it was a cobalt mine rather than the Kobold project. I hadn't seen anything specific about a cobalt mine previously so was curious.

In a recent interview Paul Kabuswe mentioned a cobalt mine in Chililabombwe.

The question is at what state do Anglo want the licences to be, prior to signing and stumping up the first payment.
I could see them wanting the Zaco LELs approved. The risks they would then be carrying would be limited, and they are likely to be able to end the JV at any time, subject to sufficient notice. If AA had any inclination to delay then having the mining licences approved could be used as a mechanism for the delay. I could see the mining licences being political and/or giving AA some degree of confidence in their length of tenure. I can see them wanting this level of confidence before spending many millions on exploration but I'm not sure approval of the LMLs would be required prior to signing the JV.

Mulling over the stock box interview, I wonder if the potential acquisition is Molopo or a part thereof. Even If the drilling results show promise, I'm not convinced it would be a good move, although I do think Molopo looks promising - but perhaps not the current drill results. POW and KAV each be operating for the benefit of their shareholders. What would prevent POW sourcing funding from the same guys as BT has got financing from (or is their portfolio just too diverse)?

It's obvious KAV's interpretion of data for the KCB has been off, which makes me wonder if other data interpretation has been flawed. It may be that they need to reevaluate B1 based on learning from the KCB, which sounds sensible.
When BT visited Botswana in August he went via Zimbabwe. At the time tweeted about the opportunities, which made me think an acquisition of some description in Zimbabwe was on the cards. At one point in the interview it sounded like it was another opportunity in Botswana they were considering but later on in the interview, I wasn't so sure. I find it difficult to believe that KAV have backers who want to just throw money at them, so I assume the backers are aware of the potential project, rather than giving KAV a blank cheque.
He says if the Mamuno formation is present then you can pretty much forget a commercial discovery, I don't know how valid that is or exactly how to interpret it. PL036 has the Mamuno formation present.
KAV are heavily reliant on Jeremy and seem to have put all their eggs in a basket that he has made. I haven't seen anything definitive to suggest that the basket is faulty but neither have I seen anything to convince me that it is sound.

Well that scuppers my bidding area theory (asuming the LEL is assigned to S. ZACO).
I haven't checked the max LML size against the size of the LELs as I wasn't sure what size a cadastre unit was. An LML can't be as large as the largest LEL.

Their report details activities over their ground in the last quarter. I would expect it to contain information relating to any active exploration on the Botswana tenements (with the caveat that Arc is the operator ). The tenements aren't mentioned in the activities report but they do still hold the 25%.

As per my previous post I was providing information to investors and asked if they had anything further to add so this was 100% the corrext forum. In addition I was aaking about plans relatinf to Zambia in general rather than juat ARC. I believe posting personal communcation on this forum, as you have just done, is frowned upon, as it cannot be verified.

No my post would not be better aimed toward investor relations. It is providing information and background to other investors while asking if they have anything further that they can contribute.

Anglo previously held these licence areas, prior to exiting Zambia.

In May 2022 Arc Minerals announced they were working towards a JV with Anglo Exploration Zambia. This has been delayed but at the last RNS was still progressing.
One of ARC minerals licence areas in Zambia was set to a bidding area (it was up for renewal) in the mining cadastre. Within the last week the area is no longer a bidding area and Anglo Exploration Zambia have an application in for an exploration licence over the area. Zaco Investments (majority owned by ARC) have since put in a large scale mining licence applications over this area and a neighbouring area (which wasn't up for renewal).
ARC haven't any defined resources in the area so mining licence applications seem a bit premature. The licence applications are in the early stages so could change from mining licence to exploration licence applications. It appears that a deal between Arc and Anglo is progressing. Has anyone got any further insight into Anglo's short/medium term intentions in Zambia?

The above statement was 100% correct. That licence has since been updated in the cadastre.
Whether they stay as mining licence applications remains to be seen. I am quite happy to admit that I am, on occasion, wrong. Alas, not this time :-).
