i'm intrigued by the perceived market valuation of certain gold producing companies. GMA circa £13.25m NGL circa £8m NGL producing 3 times as much gold per qtr. 19,831 oz for qtr ended dec 08 versus 5,292 for gma in same period. Yes i know previous management has impacted NGL's reputation but new management are sweeping that away And of course other factors play a part. If anyone has researched gold producers and their mkt valuations taking into a/c cost of production/income/reserves/debt/assets/asset depcn/ country risk etc i'd be interested in seeing it. if not ,heaven forbid, i may delve into it myself.

Perhaps we are erring on the side of caution in terms of valuation. And perhaps that is the right thing to do. But should they manage to squeeze the MOD for the full £30m (which the MOD surely will have budgeted) then i suggest they are worth more than their £3m approx valuation. Yes it remains to be seen but i'm happy to wait. Would be good to see if they can get a nice little olympics security contract next. We can but hope. I think if the CEO of any company is seen wearing a gold ring at the moment they are moving up on speculation. I think chances any RNS release by miners will have an effect on SP but you are right to query the accounts. They should always be the starting point for any compnay but some of these miners release an RNS and the sp goes mental regardless of the solidity of the company. Good luck today.
