Just read this and looking very positive. Wonder if this will attract PI's en-mass?

Anybody aware why this share has suddenly woken up? Any news behind the smoke screen besides it being a gem in waiting?

If we are really on the cusps of a Gold Bullmarket, and all indications are that we may well be, then when the herd seek out quality goldshares, the prices of these shares will be through the roof. Or at least I hope so!! One expert explained it would be akin to driving a herd of cattle through a needle thread! On the other hand, just this morning I was reading an article in an Aussie Morning Money who had a completely opposite point of view. The dollar will strengthen and plunges gold down to $940!!!!! This is when the Black Swans of the Banking sector implodes led by Deutche Bank or one of the Italian banks.

Banksman, there is still plenty of Umph in this share! I certainly am not running to Shanta, are you? You are right, their dividend in USD beats the Rand dominated dividend hands down. Can't argue with that! I have not researched Shanta and my only info to date is what Amanda revealed on her interview last week. Tanzania is less risky politically than old SA. But a Metro election reset will keep the meddlers busy with survival tactics for a good while longer!

Yippy and finally! Mind you, I am convinced the battle for a lower POG into end September is on! So good going, IMHO! Has anybody had a good look at the USA Job figures? Rubbishy summer jobs to fool us further afield IMO!

Banksman, I learnt that Alan Gray is a major shareholder in PAF. So that is a positive! The "tank" here depends on the political outcomes (dust has not settled yet for Metro elections) and the POG, IMHO. All other factors being equal such a production quotas met etc... Relatively bad news if EFF decide to side with the current rulers in split result areas.

If Mr R.M. gets ousted, the whole Zim mining industry could see a surge. The end-game for change must be very near? I liked what I read about this share over the weekend. It is well managed, has the backing of Alan Gray 13,5% which helps, has come up trumps considering the politics, are adding infrastructure to access more resource and thus ensuring a decent life of mine span.

Many other Au & Ag shares dropped significantly today with the Non-Pharms US employment results 225,000 vs 185 or so were expected. The USD strengthened and the POG and Ag were effected negatively. But not the share price of PAF! How does one interpret that significant factor on so many other precious metal shares?

SteffyB, I had a look and was a little disappointed with her view of PAF. If she can be enthusiastic about Caledonian, she should have been ecstatic about PAF as a fully functioning gold mine! IMHO

July�s USA unemployment data was just released at 8:30 a.m. EST. Nonfarm payrolls rose 255,000 vs. expectations of 185,000. As a result of the strong data, the U.S. dollar immediately rallied strongly and the euro started to collapse. Gold and silver also sold off sharply with gold now trading at $1,348 (8:38 a.m. EST), breaking some short-term support levels. Silver is now down more than $0.47.

Anybody know why we are 4,47% down? I have done my best to find news and could not find anything to explain the drop.

Sorry to have repeated earnings news, LandofBluesand. But why not! I am new to this game and it intrigues me how this share is influenced by both local occurences and of course the Rand/Dollar or pound exchange rates. One thing I picked up yesterday was the 20 year length of mine life, it could have been for Barberton? This is a problem with many wines elsewhere. Randgold in Mali is an example. All things being favourable, we have plenty of Au here and that is a plus!

Wow, 6,90% rise today has caught me unexpectedly off guard. This share can and will only go up with POG and hopefully no other adverse events. They look to become a serious mining outfit in the future, if there is'nt political interference.

Oufc, please check if my info is correct but, I have received a message that the tailing project you refer to are the old Kingross, Winkel Hak and Leslie mine dumps, mined by General Mining in the 1950's. Thus the dumps contain 0,4 ozs Au per ton, are easy and cheap to treat with modern methods of extraction. Rumour has it that interim results can be expected to be good and a dividend well in excess of 100 to 150%. In Rands = 25 to 30 cents per share perhaps? Low costs of production a rise in POG means a possible bigger dividend, I think?

16H35 - nearly 250,000 shares bought and then another big buy! Wonder who this was, an institutional investor with that amount of confidence? Bodes well for us here and I liked the little spike but wish it lasted longer!
