Anybody know if Anglo has considered investing in copper in Equador at all? Solgolds 1st tier discovery and perhaps a lot more?

I never understood Anglo and clearly missed the boat when it was sub-300! Right now I agree it is too volatile for a small investor like myself to invest in. The new Aussie CEO seems to be smart and I note they declined the sale of 2 of their coal mines in Aussie recently, obviously before they were doing their best with a 10Bil debt reduction programme.

Not got my eye on the ball but does anybody know why CMCL is 6,28% up today. Many other goldies are performing poorly.

Hope there is a retrace to some lovely levels before this last sharp drop? Especially if the POG recovers a little as evidenced by today holding above $1205. Dollar has been the strongest for 14 years of late, FED may increase interest rates and Trump may declare how he will make America great again, lastly European elections to cause more volatility!

Thanks Mikespikex but it seems gold may have shown resistance at $1205 and currently about 1212 or so. Hope there will not be an inversion in POG? My feeling is that this share will not move until gold moves up, they release an RNS to confirm the investment in the tailing plant and no dramatic SA political news. There was an announcement of policy by the government about further investment in adjacent local communities the chamber of mines did not like. zumie also looks like he is not going until the till is dislodged and he is cleared of 7000 charges etc.. Maybe a 0 too many there but who cares! Here it is all about a solid mid-tier miner paying a good dividend with more in the tank to produce Au, imho.

Essentially what you say is nearly 100% true but there are exceptions. Up to now exceptions are infrequent. US Dollar remains the world's number one currency BUT,... with massive trillions of US debt and years of QE to stimulate growth unsuccessfully, the USD is Fiat as its inherent value has declined massively. Surely at some point the world loses confidence in the dollar and seeks the value of real money = gold. India currently is a case in point where gold has peaked to $2800/oz as citizens lost faith in their currency, the Rupee?

Funny that I see the world so much like you! Volatility and big surprises everywhere that could swoop POG/Silver at any time. Particularly political changes and their policy consequences. I hold for the longterm so will take the punch for now. I think it is important to hold quality shares and think that Caledonia is one of them!

No RNS and PAF jumped 6,67% up today. I know it is a case of snakes and ladders but....

Agree Lennie. So much volatility in the air! Just read a section on the currency situation in India. Just proves gold is money, the rest fiat, imho! What Black Swan next?

Yes, looking forward to my dividend here! In a sideways and jolly disappointing bull run to date, that will be my highlight for now and early Xmas! A Bull Run with more Run than Bull!

My sources (right or wrong?) tell me the "cartel" smashed gold yesterday by selling off 6800 tons of "paper gold". Was the reason to extricate themselves from underwater short positions? Perhaps this is good for us in the long-term as they flushed out longs and total shorts will be lower? Now, imho, the drag on gold movement might be more curtailed? Who knows? The world is in s dire financial position, no growth, denial as we sit on the verge of recession, failure of QE etc...... My belief is gold is the only REAL money! (and silver!)

No idea but will make enquiries! Cannot leave you to be the sole in-put on this board, it looks unattractive! Pity I am on holiday end of this week because I had an invite to meet the CEO in London and could have made a lot enquiries besides pints consumed! US elections result next and hopefully the end of profit taking then the next leg UP for the POG.

Bought a few more PAFs today but when are we going to hear about the Tailings Plant Feasibility study, anybody know? Must be soon, surely? It would seem that the consensus is for POG to advance before Xmas, never mind which US Presidential candidate is elected.

Thanks for your input, dougal66. Got that about rand dominated expenses now costing more as the Rand has strengthened from 22 to 16,5 Rand to the Pound (same with Dollar). So why if the sp rises, why are there additional expenses? I don't get it!

Latest IC, on about page 50 is a good article on SA Mines and asks the question if they have turned the corner. Mentions PAF in glowing terms!
