Im all for getting as many people who can work back in employment.......however all of our largest employers have said the recent budget will stop them hiring.....many mixed policies/ messages coming from this government.......confusing,uncertain times atm.......gla

..fortunately all my children ...aged 30 -40 all work 1 has done particularly well...however things have changed with some young people ...some of my friends 18-28 yr olds are not working...i think a lot of things changed during the pandemic especially lockdown....my eldest grandson is 13 and i talk to him constantly about trying hes best and going to work and achieve something in the future.....some children are being brought up in households where not working is a way of life.......however regards benefits some people defintely do need them and deserve them ...but not all .....gla.

UK retail sales YoY prev +3.9% exp +3.4%....however will be watching MoM more closely previous + 0.3% Exp -0.3%....will be watching that number with interest....gla.

Jcb..yeah I expected my house builder shares to do better..but with higher for longer interest rates v possible and labour already back tracking on their housebuilding numbers promise..things are looking tough in that sector..gl.

I personally thought that at one stage the Base Rate would/could of been 4% by the end of the calender year ....however things change and now even the 25bp reduction to 4.5% in december is not as certain as it once looked.......i dont respect bailey he has behind the curve on too many occasions for my liking.....gla

..just got in watched recording of PM questions......Reeves looks in trouble ..not least as it now seems proved about lying on her CV..that may hang round her neck for a while....but mainly as the budget seems to be unravelling ATM...retailers etc etc...Rayner smirking when the WFP payment is mentioned ...not a good look.....not a good start imo...gla.
