Following two non-binding, conditional indicative offers in the past fortnight priced at 560p and 600p, Castlelake had a third for 625p rejected at the weekend and went hostile, appealing directly to easyJet’s shareholders to join their bid.

We have just capitulated and it looks very much like a stick up.

I have almost 1 million shares, I’m sure there are other large holders on here, we CAN make a difference. We will not lose anything, they will just have to up the offer. As their share price decreases, so do our prospects. At least a full cash offer, so there is a definitive figure. Surely you have all bought / sold a house, or something, when have you ever settled for the first offer. We have a chance to increase our pot, ask your broker to register a NO vote. Apathy will get no one anywhere. Be brave.

Also in the AGM there was authorisation for a share buy back scheme, why would they need that if we were being sold?

One day left to make it official, if they had the 75% they needed I would think they would not have to leave it until the last minute.

They have 28 days from the 14th of May to formalise the offer, that is in two days time, the 11th June. Perhaps they are struggling to get this over the line and will have to withdraw the offer, or substantially improve it. We will know in the next 48 hours or so.

Surely they need at least 25% to vote yes. Apathy and a no vote could go a long way.

Well, each to their own, I have been party to shareholders turning down an offer in the past. If you are happy vote yes. I would rather cast my no vote and see what happens. If you don’t even try, how will you know. Personally I think we are worth more than this. If we don’t discuss it here, then some will not bother to vote, one way or the other. But, if you think it’s a good offer, or a bad, you should vote. Just my opinion. What will be will be. If someone does not lead, how will the herd follow? 🙂

If only 50% think this is a good offer, then it’s not going to happen. If they had enough votes they would have made the bid formal by now, they have a window of time to do it. If they don’t have the votes then they will have to rethink and make a sensible offer.

As you say around 50%, so not enough. We could hold the balance.

They need a minimum of 75% to vote yes. Hopefully they are nowhere near that total and are already having to rethink the offer. Been here for so long, what’s another three months to get a fairer deal. Don’t sell out too early, they want this and they will pay more for it, they know it’s worth and they know they are bring cheap with the investors.

But who ever accepts the first offer, on any negotiation? Crazy just settle without testing things.

You may have to ask your broker to vote on your behalf. Check with them. This is how they win, not being transparent on how you can vote. Let us know what your broker says. We can all learn and benefit.

The other option for s to vote no to the deal.

They need 75% acceptance.

It is thought they already have 50%

If everyone here voted no, there may be a chance to swing it.

Nothing to lose, they want our shares so would come back with a higher offer.

You may have to instruct your broker to vote in your behalf, easy to do, done it before.

I will vote no.

Not yet, too early, more than two weeks until the New financial year, this winter be done until much closer to the 5th. Certainly I will not sell two weeks before I need to convert
