I think I agree with both JS and thorny.
But How the next announcement is interpreted will be down to investors and the market.
All JAHC can do is do his job and try to grow the company. He can’t control the SP.
And just to back up what JS capper said - as well as production figures from Mars and the Thorny River mining permit James Campbell and David Horgan are working on something bigger
We know this because some of us have askedJames directly and he confirmed it.
But of course non of us know what
I'm not going to take the credit for finding this but -
copy and pasted from the latest Gem Diamonds RNS
The Company owns 70% of the Letšeng mine in Lesotho and is currently in the process of selling its 100% share of the Ghaghoo mine in Botswana.
Yes I hear you both.
And especially to you Clockman - holding for 9 years takes a huge amount of resolve. Respect.
But it looks as though news is coming (hopefully) next week according to JAHC.
Marsfontein can’t be anything but positive given the increase in mining area.
But the mining permit is WELL OVERDUE!!! And sadly down to the government.
Then there’s the rest, Ghaghoo, KX36, Maibwe.
As it’s been said - fantastic news with De Beers and the Botswana Govt agreeing terms
This should now set the wheels in motion for all African diamond deals.
The amount of news due is almost overwhelming.
Marsfontein production and diamond sale numbers
Thorny River permit
Ghaghoo / KX36
Maibwe JV
The situation is starting to irritate me tbh.
Where is the f***ing news?!
The original mining area for Marsfontein has grown from what was originally planned.
We know this definitely.
They’ve even sold the first batch which is fantastic news and would suggest there’s plenty more to come.
Why hasn’t the market been updated?!!!!
Afternoon All,
JAHC is currently in the Northern Province of SA - he's meeting with the government regarding our permitting.
And from what I've been told the current negotiations between De Beers and the Botswana Govt haven't effected and won't effect our deal. But JAHC is of course keeping an eye on things
Yes, I agree with you thorny.
Everything about the Mars project is looking positive. The area being mined has clearly increased and even though we are waiting for the mining permit to come through, we are using the extra time by increasing productivity on the current project.
But I think that the de beers / Botswana government problem is possibly having an effect?
Here here with regards vast.
I had no expectation when they announced the JV and when it well through most of us just gave a shrug of the shoulders.
I hope to god JC isn’t getting into bed with them again.
But something is coming . . . .
The question is what exactly?
That's good digging JK.
I asked JC when he expected the permit to be granted
His exact words were 'I've been told by our consultant that's its imminent. But lets see'.
And its worth remembering - this is Africa that we're dealing with. Their timescale management can be somewhat suspect lol
Mmmm
Permits bordering on overdue working on the basis of early September for when the application was submitted.
They're holding the Mars numbers back for a reason me thinks.
But if they've secured financing at a premium share price then bring it on lol
Then there's Maibwe, Ghagoo, or the fabled left field announcement . . .
We just need that RNS to light the touch paper
