I hold WH, 888 and Ladbrokes in a SIP because they either look cheap, pay dividends or may be subject to a bid. They are also relatively easy to understand and reliably generate cash. I think the sector has been oversold and deserves a re think. The review will fissle through in due course but the football season is underway and people are gambling on it.

Remain invested and feel any fallout from the gov. review already priced into sp. It is also a sad fact of life that people gamble more in recessions. Whille investing here is also a gamble of sorts the odds are better than those from a gaming machine.

Yep nice to see the day start with a large ish buy.

Me too this afternoon! Not big money because this is all very early days but a promising area with mining starting within a year and the uranium sector on the up.

Interesting day yesterday; my other uranium stocks, Energy Fuels and BKY risen substantially and Cameco up a little. BKY has been offered funded by Oman Sovereign Wealth which is mostly good news with a little share dilution in exchange for cash. Yet here we are with a small company with just 3 employees that owns some great uranium real estate and no one is paying them much attention. What am I missing?

Well having done a little more research I decided this was a 1% kind of stock so bought a few anyhoo.

Noticed that energy fuels another of my holdings has enjoyed a steady rise over the past few weeks. Are uranium prices starting to firm up? We have some idea of pubicly quoted prices but no idea of behind the scenes negotiations. Long term holder of BKY and others.

The company looks promising re the presentation but before I invest in another uranium producer how long will their cash last? Looking at FT tearsheet while they no debt neither do they have much cash or cash flow so how will this mine in Sweden be exploited? Oh and the buyer has connections with Ladbrokes....courtesy of the FT link below. Former chief executive Ralph Topping had recently left the board after a failed attempt to merge with Pokerstars owner Amaya. He was briefly replaced by James Henderson before concerns around digital strategy saw him step down. As it happens the price trend of energy fuels over the past month looks encouraging to me. I believe that for the production survivors and those who can produce low cost uranium the future should see a recovery in sp of several multiples. In short, once I see a recovery I am holding until I see 2-300% before taking some profits. DYOR and don't bet your shirt on one stock.

Hi, they are sat on cash and strong reserves aided by Senegal so remain invested for the longer term. I believe that there will be turnaround in oil explo sooner than in ten years time and Cairn remains a clear buyout target as it trades at something close to asset value.

There have been a few articles in the press about private equity buying up cheap assets in the north sea ahead of an uptick in efficiency, oil price and profits. Is there a risk that the PMG share price is being manipulated downwards to facilitate a cheap bid from one of these sharks? Or to put this another way has anyone got a rational explanation for why the sp is down at 39p?

I confess to having been several of those listed and am trying to learn from past mistakes! As for OXB I have followed it for years dipped in and stopped lossed twice on modest amounts but do think they are on the verge of delivering something substantial. I am therefore a buy and hold chap, with a stop loss for the unexpected.
