What we do know is that Catenae is running out of cash fast – which is why its Board took part-payment of salaries and expenses in the form of shares, to be issued under a 30-day VWAP  formula to the end of August.

This morning’s announcement of non-news will make no difference to that, but in this mad market the stock has been marked up by some 31%, to boost the market capitalisation to around £4 million – up by the best part of £1 million on the day (so far).

Is this non-news of a deal with a start-up which only has £100 really worth an extra £1 million to Catenae, which is running out of cash at an alarming rate and has almost zero in the way of revenues and considers it “premature” to offer revenue guidance on this deal?

For a start, as we all know, RNS Reach announcements are deemed to be not financially significant and are thus marketing material. Bearing in mind Catenae’s woeful revenue performance (just £12,308 in the six months to March), for this announcement not to qualify for a full RNS on the basis that it is worth 5% of revenues means it truly must be pitiful.

A quick trip to Companies House may explain why: Promake was only formed last September and at the last count had raised equity of a total of just £100 by the end of January. It is hardly the stuff of Unicorns, is it
