The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I’ve still got Fastjet Shares. It was a classic suckers (beginners) investment reading & heeding all the ramping advice back in 2012 when it was going to be the new EasyJet for Africa. Boy did I get my fingers burned when I was hooked on a spike. I’ve since had learnt the GOLDEN RULES. NEVER INVEST WHAT YOU CANT AFFORD TO LOSE. Do your own research. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. My remaining worthless Fjet Shares remind me to think carefully before gambling (Cos that’s what it is for people who read these forums) & just enjoy the rush when you get it right. Best wishes Fjet.
Rolls Royce is reportedly going to axe more than 4,000 jobs, with Derby "bearing the brunt". The cull would be aimed at slashing costs and boosting profits, with middle managers and back-office staff thought to be most affected, reports the Sunday Times. newspaper says chief executive Warren East will announce the job losses at an analyst briefing on Friday, dealing a devastating blow to its Derby base. The cuts are expected over several years The last sentence brings Some relief to this shocking assertion. Derby was always the least hurt when the axe came around so these numbers are shocking if theyre accurate. Warren E has been an impressive Boss to date . Hope whatever he does actually announce Friday is another right move for RR.

It's about now (well it was last year) the torpid unresponsive Directors come briefly out of their coma to say "It's Jam tomorrow" before slipping back into their deep paralysis of another world where in their dreams they actually sell something. Well they did sell a street lay-by last financial year (seriously!)I hear you cry! Well, Such gallows humour has been long lost on me. I fear it's another non report coming. What a joke company.
This may explain sudden SP rise. Bit alarming as I'm one of RR Pensioners! http://invezz.com/news/equities/24559-Rolls-Royce-share-price-Group-strikes-1bn-pension-deal-?utm_source=Alert&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=LON:RR:10112016&aruid=MTA3MjI
Agree with you there Arsenal17. I can remember John Rose (Now there was a Boss!) discussing the Chinese Aerospce possibility some 20 years ago (fairly dismissively I recall) & if they've only got round to investing now we're good for another few decades methinks...
"In the meantime, Rolls is at least now able to show no further deterioration in trading. It is too early to say that signs of recovery are visible, and it will be some time before service revenues on Trent XWB and Trent 7000 engines are significant. Rolls is unable to book much, if any profit on their initial sale. So like the journeys that Rolls Royce wide-body aero engines power, the stock is set to be a long haul". Succinct summary. I'm staying. Always enjoy long haul anyway....
Lots of reading! .......but (IMHO) pretty much in line with what City is expecting. I've only skimmed through it but there is more than one ref to T700 run down as T7000 comes online that make it pretty clear this share is def not for short termers. RR has always been about planning where it will be 5 to 10 years time & retaining that competitive edge as it does so. £76 Billion order book tells me it's getting it right. GLA .
Hate to rein you back but RR has a history of SP rising in days before results (normally much more than this but, hey, FTSE in turmoil at mo) & then plunging back when the announcement is actually made. See if I'm wrong. No odds to me I'm in for long haul .......it will be back!
