RE: Heading North Everyday ?26 Jul 2024 12:54
I have worked at my company for nearly 23 years now since 18, hence why my understanding with management is high. I've grew up with the owner, and my boss is his Son who I used to train on the shop floor to run machines as a 16 Yr old.
I love it here, real family run engineering outfit, and for a family man as myself I couldn't get better treated for my time and loyalty.
Grinding, turning, milling, bench work, jig making, wire eroding, you name it.
They don't do Toolmaker apprenticeship now, trades died out, but we had 2 here when I was a young man who respected my work ethic and good manners and trained me well.
Retired now they have, so I'm quite difficult to replace here in terms of experience to the jobs we do.
I probably take advantage of that with my phone habits, but I get the job done.
And I've brought plenty of work in over the years through new customers as I do prototypes as a small batch engineer.
Cnc isn't my bag, boring and penny to a dozen in terms of engineers
