Exactly dreamon. This is my argument as posted on Wed 20.22. Why commit to gross expenditures of say 100 to 110 mm (allocating back 30 mm for eog (say 10% equity minimum) as post carry) when u can buy the company for 20-25 mm? Clnr just done a nice farm down (pre well decision today in sns).

Ah lol glad to see I was missed today. Quick update as in mid Wales stopped off at pub. What a beautiful country. Agree totally there is a great difference between mkt cap of eog and competitors however don't forget the reason for this is the relative material risks involved imho. I would be very surprised if we don't get sign off prior to cnooc well and personally infer negatively if this were the case. I fully understand if this well comes in then it may change the appeal of eog blocks but really for the size of some of the players involved taking over eog is chump change so we have to ask ourselves why not, especially compared to potential cost of 3 wells? I've heard It mentioned on here Hugh has said that the majors will crawl over glass to get to eog blocks if successful? If it is that appealing I certainly wouldn't wait and let's face it though, Hugh has said a lot about majors being in multiple data rooms to date now so such remarks are hardly new? Just a counter argument and I'm happy to bet on EOG but also am fully aware and happy at the relative risks as well. Selfish I'm really busy at the moment buddy (and cannot reply today) but u do seem to be really really interested in any posts I make or made to Rudey in the months past (when you weren't actually posting on this thread, ahem lol). You're not getting my f'ing point. I should have been more specific admittedly, so apologies for that! Brexit will not impact the value of project negatively hence is an irrelevance imho!! Is that clear enough? I also never f'ing said the directors didn't own shares I was merely questioning how much they paid ffs. I also said, when pointed out to me how much Hugh had personally invested in this company, (although less so positively in last placing) that I drew comfort from that. Also just because directors fall in love with the assets doesn't mean they're right but at least I can take some comfort they share the "pain". It will only exacerbate energy shortage not contribute to it so should increase the NPV / IRR if indeed such short term fluctuations impact it in the model (unlikely lol). So what I was saying was a hard Brexit would not negatively impact the "potentual" project at all it should make it (more) compelling. Why should Brexit have anything to do with it? There is a need for energy in Ireland and this will likely be further exacerbated post Brexit hard soft whatever. The only small point is that there will be a lot of gas worldwide coming onstream over the next few years but this is potentially 20-25 year project timelines so again shouldn't impact this. Imho and dyor of course.

Christ it has been blindingly obvious since day one they should have partnered with a real o&g company. This is exactly my "complaint" they wasted time, resources and money waiting as long as they did until finally selling the silver!! I don't concentrate that much on posts on here for obvious reasons but really cannot remember many people stating this strategy!! However I'll be honest as they had gone such a long way beyond when I think they should have farmed out originally, I would absolutely have supported a placing or RI to drill second back to back well IF, they admitted their drilling limitations and got people in who know what they are doing and if they actually got on with things and drilled, rather than procrastinated and wasted a fantastic opportunity. Again I don't think they needed a placing / RI. They simply shouldn't have paid down the debt, kept strict cash control, procured a proper powered rig in first place and buckled down and drilled to work up 2p. All imho and dyor of course.
