In Morocco, Sound Energy PLC (LON:SOU) extended negotiations over the gas sales agreement for the Tendrara gas project in eastern Morocco, with a new deadline of 31 March 2020. It comes as the company continues to move Tendrara towards a Final Investment Decision.

The company is working on a ‘build-own-operate-transfer’ funding solution for the infrastructure development that will support Tendrara, it noted.

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approvals process is progressing well, with a second meeting with the Moroccan Ministry of Energy, Mines and Environment to review the document on 28 January – following the first meeting, which took place in October. At the January meeting the committee will consider and, if agreed, approve the EIA.

Sound Energy, the Moroccan focused upstream gas company, is pleased to announce that the process to convert Schlumberger's existing 27.5% interest in the Anoual permits to a direct 27.5% licence position has completed following receipt of the relevant Moroccan Ministerial approvals.

The Company's unchanged interest in the Anoual permits consists of an operated 47.5% participating interest, with the remaining interests in the Anoual permits held by Schlumberger (27.5%) and Morocco's L'Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (25%).

Project Description
The "Phase 1" development is envisaging the development of the "TE 5 Horst" area only, where
three successful wells have been drilled ( TE-5, TE-6 and TE-7). The current understânding, subject to
the concept selection activities ongoinB, is indicating a production plateau of 60,000 Scfd raw gas,
one single CPF located within the TE5 horst area and a certain number of development wells to be
dfilled in time to maintain the prodùction plateaLr.
At the cluster a first liquid'gas separation will occ!r with a final separation and extraction ofthe CO2
will be carried out at the CPF. The stream of gas will be brought at spec to be injected in the Tendrara
Gas Export Pipeline (TGEP)and consequently in the GME.
The key elements of the development plan are the following:

km. liquid and gas line from each cluster to CPF iniet manifold;
. Pressure reduction ât well head.

Something new in the Sound Energy pipeline project in Tendrara. The oil and gas company claims to have received approval from the Ministry of Energy, Mines and the Environment for the environmental impact study (EIA) conducted in connection with the construction and operation of a pipeline in the Oriental. If the project is finally approved, the pipeline will be connected to the Maghreb Europe Pipeline and will pass through the municipalities of Matarka (Figuig) and Merija (Jerada).

After a first meeting held on October 10, the National Committee responsible for examining the EIA will meet again on January 28.

The British exploration and production company Sound Energy has extended negotiations with the National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) for the sale of natural gas from the Tendrara concession until March 31 2020.

It was through the publication of a press release on January 2 that Sound Energy announced this modification to the memorandum of understanding signed on October 29, 2019 with ONEE.

Under the MOU the parties have agreed to use their reasonable endeavours to continue negotiations with a view to entering into a binding GSA, incorporating the key terms of the MOU and construed under Moroccan law, prior to the end of calendar year 2019. The MOU stipulates a 10 year initial term commencing on the date of signature of GSA and automatically renewing for further periods of five years thereafter, unless terminated by one of the parties with one year's notice.
