Draft, well testing!

As previously announced, and as detailed at the Company's Capital Markets Day presentation on 27 April 2020, Hurricane has been carrying out ongoing testing of the two Lancaster EPS wells in order to determine the sustainability of combined production rates up to gross 20,000 bopd. Achieving this target rate at a sustainable level has not been possible as the impact of increasing production rates resulted in instability in the flow regime on the 205/21a-7Z well as a result of interference between the wells. This has led to a decision to shut-in the 205/21a-7Z well for the time being and return to a period of testing maximum sustainable rates from just the 205/21a-6 well. The water production from the 205/21a-7Z well at the time the instability was experienced was in line with the water production that had been seen over the previous weeks.

Transport manufacturer Alstom and energy infrastructure firm Snam are to collaborate on the development of hydrogen trains in Italy, the latest example of work being undertaken to integrate the technology into mass-transit systems.

In an announcement Thursday the firms said that the agreement between them, which is set to last five years, would see French company Alstom “manufacture and maintain newly built or converted hydrogen trains.”

Government efforts for renewables

The government’s initiatives complement those of private actors in prioritizing and improving Morocco’s renewable energy sector. According to the Ministry of Energy, several companies from 12 countries established a presence on the Moroccan renewable energy market, with new presences still emerging.

Recent talks between Moroccan and British ministers of energy regarded prospective bilateral cooperation focused on renewable energies. The Moroccan-British deliberations encompassed the fields of renewable energy, hydrogen, and natural gas, as well as research and innovation.

The ministers discussed a stronger electricity cooperation as well as the important role the UK will play in international climate change policy as a host of the (now postponed) United Nations Climate Conference, COP26. The UK, as a hosting government, could spur investment in renewable energies which would help Morocco’s transition to clean energy. Morocco saw this trend after it hosted COP22 in 2016.

The gas market within Morocco is attractive. The country imports approximately 90% of its gas requirements for power generation, predominantly from Algeria. With gas fired power generation expected to account for an increased percentage of the power market there is a huge future growth in demand for gas and the country is having to look at the potential of importing expensive LNG to satiate it needs. This will lead to generous price for domestic gas production.

So we have now moved to a different thought process, gone with proving of the basin and those some might say wild cat wells and more to build on what we have and construction of the LNG plant that will bring value and sink some money wells in the TE-5 location.

cant t help but wonder/ or understand why any majors are not looking at us... by the sound of it they had a look but the offer or deal just couldn’t cut it. Schlumberger to me would be a good fix to get involved in the micro LNG plant and recover some funds, and have them to carry out the next leg of the targeted wells.

Out with the old and in with the new..........So we have lost the sexy operations, but let’s face it we need the cash and stability going forward until we are ready to explore again and with the backing

Really, what’s the price again..........get some good funding or strike a deal with a willing partner not wanting a fire sale and we will be off and running again.

Joe , I’m same as you and others shocked at the free fall and have averaged down with more share than I wished for.............So let’s sit back and once again try and get a good result, average down not me know way.........but I have as I believe there is more gas in Tendrara.

First well (TE-6): During the first half of 2016, the first Tendrara well, TE-6, was drilled to a measured vertical depth of 2,665 metres and successfully encountered approximately 28 metres of net gas pay in the TAGI reservoir. Flow was achieved pre-stimulation and, post-stimulation, a rate of 17 MMscf/d was achieved. This highly commercial rate was significantly above initial expectations.
Second well (TE-7): the Company’s second Tendrara well (TE-7) was drilled successfully to a total measured depth of 3,459 metres, corresponding to a vertical depth of 2,611 metres. TE-7 has a total contact length through the TAGI reservoir of some 837 metres, including a 700 metres sub-horizontal section. A gas flow rate was achieved, post stimulation and clean up, of 32 MMscf/d. This rate was significantly above the Company’s pre-drill expectations. In January 2017, a successful extended well test was completed. The extended test results are consistent with the Company’s estimates and confirm the good deliverability of the TAGI reservoir, the horizontal well concept and the Company’s view of the significant potential of the field.
