"While additional design wins on existing platforms are relatively low hanging fruit, winning new platforms is not a given for Smart Eye, considering dual sourcing, competition etc. Today’s contract therefore indicates that the OEM is pleased with Smart Eye’s work thus far."
What about the OEM's (BMW) where additional expansions have not been announced!
Interesting presentation from Missy Cummings on Tesla incorporating some stuff in driver monitoring. A good back ground watch, will clearly dispel any concerns people may have regarding the dream of driveless cars.
Conclusions:
How do Tesla get away with their lack of safety awareness?
Time dependant driver monitoring systems not up to the job has to be a much more active system?
DMS needed even for basic driver ADAS systems ie a basic lane departure system.

Some interesting stuff in Viktors report, the number of employees comparison was something I have been thinking about recently and the fact that SEYE furloughed their staff where as SEE just reduced hours. You would think it obvious that SEE must be working on a greater number of detailed designs, next stage developments whereas would suggest SEYE stagnating somewhat.
Depends, do you want to develop a product tied to one customer or keep the IP yourself and develop a market wide product such as the automotive development, who knows what the future is and which chip / end user will be the winner, best keeping all options open and licensing the product once you have developed it.
Exciting stuff s2020, PM did the right thing by focusing resource on the strategic areas, I suspect he is now being dragged screaming and shouting into other product areas by the likes of Qualcomm. I wouldn't be surprised to see a fund raise on the back of the latest news releases to allow scaling up of resource into new markets, which would be a positive.
What do you think hyms, oem telematics solution based around see tech allowing oem to take profit and telematics revenue, or solution based around a telematics company such as garmin, or integration unit that integrates with multiple telematics cos, or again all above.
I guess when you have nailed 70% sorry 30% of automotive market, majority of aviation, you best raise some money and move on to the next big thing. Seems a ball ache having to use your fingers to operate a smartphone or PC, why have a tv remote etc etc
How about this logic, the OEMs don't know who is using which DMS, secretive industry and don't want competitors to know which direction they going. If PM keeps stating 30%, do the OEMs take this as gospel. By the time they find out its 70% well it's too late by then. Wouldn't want to play Poker with PM.
Only reason for a fund raise would be scaling up for additional technology development and that would have to be a significant development to require funding on top of the cash position, and if so that would be seen as very positive.
Exactly what I have been wondering, you would have thought it was the perfect marketing opportunity. First set of results and BMW with smarteyeDMS should have wiped the floor with the others. Unless BMW know it's not that good and don't intend to market aggressively until they get the next gen from SEE. Kick in the balls for smarteye I think.
Viktor on twitter not happy with the Merc being ahead of the 3 series considering 3 series has DMS fitted and the merc none. I think he missed the point, it's the functionality of the DMS that counts. Not sure how great an understanding of the tech he has.
Interesting Terry ta, theres definitely been some change in the back ground. PM must have some serious news that isn't RNS stage yet but is clearly back of the net stuff. ND must have done one hell of a sales and educational job to position SEE where they should be compared to the comp. Looks like ND and Big Mike have opened the OEMs eyes to what can be achieved and PM is holding the bag open for the cash to drop in. Top team.
Had a few attempts at shorting TSLA, problem is it moves on nothing to do with fundamentals. It's an obvious short but you will take some heat before it eventually hits a realistic level. It's the opposite issue to SEE where fundamentals are ignored but as a result very under priced.
