Yes BurrenBoy,
That is just what we need, more licenses. (yeah right).
We do not have the resources to administer the licenses we have, let alone explore any....what on earth will we do with more acreage? Promise more farmouts? What of Weg Na Zee that was so promising? Do we still have it?
The oil price is likely to rise, and so if we made oil that would help. How do you see that happening? GY677? Saffron 3?
BUT
As you say sagely, Buy low sell high folks!!
Roll up Roll up, not here much longer at these prices!
This is not a catastrophe, this is a buying opportunity!
Oil will rise and we will too! (if we can coax some out of the ethersphere)
Buy a cheapo stock now, and reap all the rewards you deserve when we are taken over by a major and discover an elephant and pigs do fly when catapulted.
Fill yer boots, tis the time!
Will never be so low again, (esp. after the consolidation)
Buy Low, Sell High!!
October to rock over and November to remember and December farming cucumber,
All coming right up, Act now before it is too late!!
Pls send cash.
Love and kisses,
hungry execs
Oh Nonsense, people lie all the time to urge people to part with their dosh. No jail.
You can say there is a realistic chance of a farm-in in the Bahamas, or in the Atlantic, or the Pacific, no jail.
You can even say your well was fantastic and exaclty what you were hoping for, but it isn't, still no jail.
Now saying you drilled a well but didn't, or saying your well made 2500bopd but didn't...those are different lies which carry liabilities..
So, no lies, no jail.....but let the buyer beware!
In4, I agree there are iffy little bitsies of unpleasant acreage to sell, as we have, and no doubt will again, also without any benefit accruing to shareholders I suspect.
But what I was referring to was the strong contention you rampers have that a major will farm in to our Uruguay block. This is where we have nothing to sell. No data. No leads, No plays, and certainly no prospects....and crucially NO discovery which is the usual ENTRY FEE into that major farm-in discussion (barring a huge discovery on trend next door which I accept is a possibility however remote, but there is nothing to hitch your horse to for quite some time if ever). I maintain, that you have more chance of going to the moon without a spacesuit, than we have of getting a major to get into bed with a spurious minnow of horribly ancestry and catastrophic track record with no discovery....I think the majors have plenty of good prospective acreage available, and they can wait us out to acquire the Uruguay block (if they really want it) , and pick it up when we fall apart inevitably. Or they could acquire it differently. Either way, shareholders, which is what this board is about, will get nothing but a rogering again.
I am sorry, I have seen this ball bounced before by this same team, and again I do not think a major will adopt us.....I cannot think of a single example where a blue chip company gets into bed with a grubby little failed lifestyle partner who has nothing to sell. Why would they?
I do not expect my O&G investments to all succeed commercially, but I prefer it when the projects are run by industry adults. Let's have another plan chaps. we've tried this one...
(Oh, and have fun with the 3.5 from Cory Moruga why don't you all, pity they won't let you sell Goudron because that must be worth a pile(?)... ;-) )
If we actually land a farm in by December as Willec predicts, (this time), I will stop calling him Willic the Pillik and never post here again.
It is a recipe sure, but CEG feel confident we can bounce that ball again and raise a ton of cash!
(There is nothing to sell of course, so a major would more than likely just wait to acquire the license through inevitable eventual default, rather than take a spurious minnow as a carried partner, but I don't want to shatter the dream...)
99M?
I think it must be the combined soothsaying capability of Willec, Starfish and in4cedross!
buy cheap, sell high.
super duper farmin is nigh
just wait for them to crack the nod
then feel free to dump your wad
We too can be rich like them
by simply mimicking their ken.
Cybertron,
You are right, there is NO chance of a farm out here, just as there was none in BPC times..Shareholders take note of Cybertron's prediction, he is right!
I agree that P1 was a 50:50, no problem there, but Cybertron, what if the company drills a well, then tells you after drilling, after logging logging and after testing, that the company has "Found exactly what they were looking for.." which you then act upon....but it was a lie? What then? And what if these same chaps that committed these "interesting maneuvers" are all still in the backroom of CEG having a pint together and plotting the next conquest?
Are lies OK? To be expected on AIM? I refer of course to the lies told about Saffron #1 under the Purple Prince who our exec still love despite buying and biting into his fictitious lemon (go figure??). You may recall we bought into Columbus to drill Saffron #2 after all the hype...it too was a dud of course...despite serving an excellent purpose for the executive in the great golden-parachute golden-handshake two-step between BPC and CERP now CEG...(a dance known as the Potty-Kootsie Curtsey).
I would say that leopards don't change their spots! Do you think they can??
thanks!
I am a shareholder, I invest broadly in this sector, directly and indirectly.
I got in for SWP upside which I pursue alternatively now.
I got into P1 for the binary full risk play, I hope we drilled a well...(?)
Clearly I take my own advice, and I am not 'buying blind', nor seeking technical guidance.
I am very aware of the associated risks.....but I do not want to be MISLEAD by DELIBERATE untruths (!!)...
...as in we have it then we don't have it, like SWP.
....as in it is but it isn't, like Saffron,
....as in it is ours to sell.....or is it?
Anyway, enough really, since the threats will mount no doubt if I carry on..
I know long term and informed shareholders are the worst nightmare for some companies depending..
It's been emotional hasn't it in4 et al :-) have a nice day!
OK, I really thought enough was enough, but I can't resist since you are getting up votes in4 :-) and I am waiting on transport and have 10 minutes to kill...
If you nailed, sliced or pulled a long iron from Saffron #1 southward, your ball would fly over more than a dozen wells and land on the beach if well struck.
Walking past these old and young well cellars, you'd notice that there is oil bubbling up the casing on a good few of them!
You'd notice too that the beach smells like an oil refinery. (We are after all just down the road from the pitch lake where asphalt flowed into the sea). At low tide, your ball may rest in a ripple hollow that would contain oil. The oil extrudes naturally from in the sub-surface and the diapir which breaks surface right there on the beach at Galfa Point, plunging into depth westward and eastward towards Pedernales and Galeota. It is a well known Trinidadian oil-seep.
Xenoliths of Miocene age rocks and younger are extruded from the diapir and are oftentimes oil-bearing.
Now EVERY well drilled beneath your balls flight path has (often multiple) oil-saturated sands, and most of them will burp, fart or foam a few barrels a month if properly coaxed. A thankless commercial proposition, (as I am sure they had discovered).
Any well drilled near the diapir encounters high pressure as the wellbore closes increasingly with diapir in depth. Extreme pressures right on the diapir have scuttled a good few rigs along it's length as mud weights required become excessive and then extreme, some literally sinking into the over-pressured fluidized sub-strata.
Columbus did NOT encounter high pressure oil uniquely or for the first time as an exploration surprise success on the peninsula as it was sold! (Not that I am sure why one would brag about high pressure oil since HPs lead to limited hydrocarbon columns and are often an indication of small isolated reservoirs with no lateral continuity, but hey...sounds good I guess to the paying punter??).
Saffron #1 was no better and no worse than any other well drilled in this geological setting, SO HOW ON EARTH COULD IT BE EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR ??.....unless you have been completely asleep at the wheel for years, and have an infantile understanding of the oilfield geology and regional well histories, and simply got excited when you saw a bit of oil over the shakers!!
Furthermore, Occam's razor suggests they knew what they were looking at and elected to report it as EXACLY WHAT COLUMBUS WAS LOOKING FOR.
Enough now??
