RE: GLENCORE SEAT EMPTY @ ZIOC BOD14 Jan 2025 13:37
Glen have held on here for a very long time, there must be a reason for that(the amazing resource that is Zanaga).
I see them wanting some level of control/influence in making sure Zanaga comes on line(thus rewarding them with their offtake/royalty(whichever is agreed upon).
I agree they are not a developer, and would probably prefer a minority backseat position.
My first choice is a complete buyout of all shareholders on equal terms(and this should be a given in accordance to the company’s articles/structure).
By what we have been lead to believe from the company, a strategic investor is the desired route, but that would require them to purchase a stake through newly issued equity, so the company can receive the funds necessary to develop the asset($2bn ish for stage 1).
Simply buying out Glencore(or indeed us(PI’s) only puts money into our pockets, and does not fund the companies coffers (for the necessary development).
Anyhow all shall soon be revealed.
