The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Last Saturday I went to Sainsbury's Hyper-market (Savacentre) in Collierswood SW19 looking for Red Leg Rum and I found it, sitting between big brands selling for £15 (original £20) under cutting big brands (selling £22). The shop assistant looking after liqueurs told me that Red Leg is fast selling Rum. I was well pleased.
Looks like Grain GmbH have added few millions shares, we should see RNS notification of major shareholding soon. They already own over 10%, they might be looking for another 10% (if they are serious about buying Distil plc).
Better than expected.

“Distil Plc (LON:DIS) cheered high demand for alcoholic drinks as UK consumers have been stocking up during the lockdown. In the quarter to 31 March, revenues soared 97% as sales volumes increased 80%, thanks to “strong” individual brand performance and weak results last year due to Brexit.Analysts at Progressive said the results were helped by “a judicious decision” to advance production timing to ensure availability of stock, as well as “prompt channel management”.The AIM-listed firm switched stock from the on-trade channels, such as pubs, hotels and restaurants, to meet increased demand from the off-trade channel, such as grocery stores. Last month revenues jumped 50%, “more than double the 22% increase indicated in recent press reports for the UK alcohol market,” analysts noted.” Courtesy Proactiveinvestors

If I was Roland Grain and serious about acquiring Distil plc, I wouldn't buy any more shares. Instead, I will make bold offer that Distil's owners can't refuse. Distil owner has made statement in the past that he is in the business to develop brands and sell them one by one or may be the whole company so that the new owners with own distilleries might take it to new levels.
