What's your view on RIO stock? You a buyer, holder, or a seller, and further would you hold both BHP and RIO. I hold both as BHP is a fully diversified miner with oil assets.

Technology has moved on, and I also know that there is a tiny company called Motiv Telecoms that is venturing into TV on mobil's and has won various contracts that enables one to watch CNN on tablets. Though its early days as Iphone have already released there new iPhone. Something to watch for Dec 2014. One today, doesn't sit everyday and watch tv, I barerly watch any tv bar a couple of hours at weekend. We live busy lives...

I caught David Buik talking this morning on talksport radio...about VOD fighting off AT&T and maybe should be looking at BSkyB. After getting out of bed with Verizion why hook up with AT&T I would like VOD to remain a hunter not pray might have to put my tuppence up against John's Billions! Though, when you think of it, why would Calcao won't to sell EU's biggest carrier. I don't see an AT&T deal being done ( ever ). Would the UK government be able to block this move, as the job loses would be catastrophic... So maybe there could be something in the BSY thing?

On technical matter 2100's is the bottom in this shareprice, but we have so much to consider economically that will/could cause a big jitter on markets. We have the end of QE, interest rates going up, Greece maybe coming back to give us another jitter on markets. The list is endless, so to ask. What price to buy at is a rather narrow minded question. Try buy a stock in two tranches; 1. Make a position, then add 2/3 of that cost to holding to top up. You can't take bets in this macro-economic environment. Lastly, IMT is the sectors cheapest stock to BATS on earnings basis, and Japan Tobacco may come and offer a cash offer near £28-29.00. Try take a look at SSE & GSKas well, SsE seems to be very very close to a bottom, and offer 6%. All the best Scott

RCP was mentioned in this weeks Investors Chronicle magazine. Comments were only a sentence long, but commented that the NAV is now just a tad over 10% of a discount, and that this has been the case for awhile. Thus my view is to research how it performed during good times. Maybe Rothschilds bet on currency fluctuations might get this outperforming the investment funds, just like my MYI has done, and also CLIG.

I'm no expert on real estate investments, but at current landlords are increasing their business rents far ahead of inflation. What would the effects of rising interest rates on an investment like this. Its one that caught my eye after reading in Investors Chronicle in Sept to buy when 46p. Hassard was another investment trust to look at though it were 8%, and don't do high yields like that, just doesn't bode well for future so I fell.

Hi every1, How and what are the views on rising interest rates on future shareprice? I'm 50-50 on it. 1. The banks will be earning more on a higher IR, but on the otherside, can the consumer of mortgages continue to afford ( interest rates eating into there steady income) their repayments when we see interest rates rise yoy. Can anyone see interest rates rising to rates seen in 80's? I can if we are to pay all this humungous debt back, more so USA! I know STAN is an emerging markets bank, but it will feel the jitters from developed world. On topping up, aim for buying more on a 15-20% from your current sp, or just wait until we receive other 'big' pullbacks, not wee dips of 1p here and 2p here... Your just a bit too short-sighted. If your here to make a fortune, its the wrong stock youv chosen...lol

Aren't Limit orders are for good economic environments? If you want the bottom, I'd wait until we have a proper pullback like mid '14! We have the end of QE to think about, which will give the markets a jitter, maybe 10-15% pullback. ".. think longterm, as its an investment, not a trade!" Further, what would happen if SSE had a 10% tax on profits, the dividend would certainly have to be cut. I'm not here to be a scaremongler, just to remind 'INVESTORS' we are in this stock because we 'believe' its going to be about for a longtime, and drive our energy economy. Right!
