The Share Magazine this week has a recommendation as a buy although they had poor results in finances...

Is like to ask which is right regarding dividend & yield for Berkeley Group Holdings. The full year currently stands at 90p ( paid 17/1/14) & 59p(27/9/13) = 149p. Is there a better time to buy funds over trusts? I have my own views, just wandering what others as I have my eye on both Threadneedles Global Equity Income (RET) & Newton Asian Income fund. Thanks Scott

Someone likes Murray International enough today( maybe he saw my take on a bounce about to take affect...lol Someone just bought 92500 ( yes ), 92500 shares at 983p.. today which is a late trade and will register tomorrow as a ruse in SP! I say tomorrow up 1.75%

Hi Catcher, Murray went ex_div on 9/1/14. So I suppose the sp will see a lot of volatility until after payment date sometime in March. Unsure if you had time to read the FT paper last week, when nasty 'GOLDMAN SACHS' said in a letter to investors that they foresee a 10% drop in markets due to bad Q4 results. They got the latter part right, unsure if they have the drop right? I sold my VODAFONE shares 23rd Dec as I don't want the Verizon shares as part of the deal. I'm trying now to see if I can see if I can get more Murray International & maybe Newton Asian Income fund / Threadneedle Global Equity Inc. My dad & I, invested in a edwardian flat in Sydenham, SE London. Going to be doing some work over the next 4/5 months down there. Can't wait to get started... Enjoy your week Scott

Looks like this will go down and down with the economy growing. Though, I HOPE youV read the article that GS { Goldman Sachs ] has released on Monday evening about he possibility of a 10%+ drop in equity markets. They are right as stocks are overpriced when the world is massively indebbted.

I believe the drop is due to release of moer shares in MYI.L. I believe that is what TRUSTS do, as they are not allowed to get loans like FUNDS are? I would say if you want to buy moer, which i would, would be to predict that the reduction in QE from the FEDS will not have a knock effect on the SP come July/August. Hi Cacher, My broker at S&J have said that this fund is going to outperform the indices if the markets go down, and underperform ( which it has done for some time since the bull run started again ) if the markets continue to go up. Mr Stout is very conservative in his approach to the markets and thus has arranged his stocks accordingly. I have found this site. Going to buy £5k worth sometime tomorrow, and maybe £5k into Threadneedle Global Equity fund very soon. Does anyone have an interest in any Asian OEIC's like the Newton fund that offers 5.2%? Thanks Scott

I had a look at Morningstars analytical breakdown of earnings for 2014&2015. It shows EPS of 179.05p giving 4.97% yield& which shows EPS of 185.33p giving 8.7% yield respectively. lucentum made a comment that the SP could be expected to drop and thus yield is the outcome... I was thinking about that before I was going to leave a comment on it. I was going to invest into Threadneedle Asian Income ( I know that Asian income could suffer with $ appreciation on interest rate rise, so not a good idea, but it has a 5.4% now, or I may start a holding here, with anticipation that the dividend will grow as analysts think along with shareprice ( and to a lesser degree me with London property on mind still a little below 2007 levels ).

Hi Coaster, I wonder what prompted you to put £30k+ on share that was trading at premium? You should spread your risk with investments...you probably know that, and what you did soundz like you were making one heck of a gamble last year?

With some brokers saying for a month or two that miners will perform well in 2014, I think that is some statement to put, but I believe that August is the month when we do ask questions about where the markets came from, and why. Free money, and to a lesser extent economic growth in Germany, China, Canada, Australia, Africa, Canada. We now have big currency fluctuations. What is your put on MYI? I own 1600 MYI.A
