I agree I would have liked much more information and I have vigorously campaigned for it with them. I even put a power point presentation to Brian Hall about the use of social media etc something which at the AGM he poo pooed and showed just how old school he was in that respect. (along with some on here I might add) However in todays day and age, people expect far more in the way of communication and I support that demand. To an extent since Brian has gone, they have improved that, but still have a long way to go. It seems to me that they feel they only need to do this with material updates, where I feel just being there with a presence keeps moral higher among the troupes!
Agree to differ on Kiliwani because I don't feel it's a matter of trust but more of one hat Tanzania realises we do not have the capital behind us to develop at the rate their quite obvious industrialisation plan requires. At the AGM admitted our path would have been drill wait raise repeat so that tells a story and how I come to the conclusion as I said yesterday monetisation and profit generation by 2020 is now a real possibility 5 to 10 years ahead of where we could do it alone.
As for change of management it can work both ways. Just as with government new people come in and can blame all the rubbish they want to remove on the previous mob which gives an early boost but how often does that last? Sometimes for continuity, it's better the devil you know than the devil you don't. In Solos case though, I admit they seem to be pulling things together.
PS just so we are clear, I do despise the sort of salaries all board rooms pay themselves. I don't believe anybody is worth the astronomical figures some boards are paid and especially when they are doing it by screwing the bloke in the overalls. The only way that will stop, is if shareholders demand a method of controlling salaries that is acceptable to all but the downside is, if you get a good man/woman they will get head hunted by a bigger player.
Good luck the tide will turn
