If there's anything we should take from the last few months, it's that the number of shares on loan doesn't seem to move the share price either way here. I would really suggest people stop obsessing over it.

Thrilled with the debt package, just over 3% is spectacular really. Less happy with more equity at 8p to Wyloo. Unless this is linked to the conditions of the debt I don't see why we should be diluting more at this rcok bottom price.

As much as I love a conspiracy I just can’t see it being in Newcrest’s interests to delay on Hav (unless costs spiral out of control or the gold disappears). Think there’s a bit of paranoia as the share price is sad, but why would the CEO of a major global miner go out of his way to shoot himself (and shareholders) in the foot just to spite a small (hopefully soon to be) junior miner in Greatland. Unlikely.

PaSB there's not yet any indication that we're going to be looking at a year of operational delays? Seems your take is less 'realistic' and more reasonable worst case scenario - which is a fine point to make, as long as not incorrectly laballed as realism.

Well the SP will fall, but quite literally the price we pay for 5% so while a dilution, there's more solid potential to play with. Hopefully the raise goes well - will be good to have funding there, and hopefully means we don't need too much debt - was nervous about going all in on debt given the current environment. Hopefully fellow holders can afford to keep holding! GLA

@Freddie - think NCM confirmed an upgraded resource estimate last week, so up 20%ish (on what was produced in the PFS?)

Happy to buy a bit more at these levels in any case. Does anyone know when the FS is due?

Calamari - Assume they were hoping to get a lower valuation for the 5%, as understand the 60 was the figure GGP went in with. That outcome wasn't realised until last month whereas the 85 offer was made in March?

Only the other day NCM were happy to commit to spiffing tens of millions for Headwater drilling prospects in Canada, but according to their slides the 60m for 5% didn’t pass their ‘hurdle’. Doubt we will, but would love to see how they calculated that one…

I only have a small holding in Newcrest, but still from that perspective I’m a bit perplexed. 60m is p*as in the wind for a company of NCM’s size, and acquiring another 5% would be pretty logical even with the conservative resource estimates they insist on using for Hav.

Jiffy, I can’t recall an RNS about making an offer for the 60 though granted I don’t normally read to the end… Happy to be corrected though, as I said would be positive if legit.

YNWA - people were convinced it would drop after the 60m figure came out, with many feeling it was overly conservative. SP went the other way the next morning. Who knows what it will do tomorrow, maybe nothing as per the last week.

Where/ when did we hear about SD making an offer for the 5%? Seems either unrealistic given we’re not flush with cash… or optimistic as would suggest (probably debt) financing lined up to some extent.

For a writer who professes to understand the number he doesn’t seem to be able to tell the difference between 2022 and 2024. Last I heard first ore is due in the first half of 2024 so about 18 months. Meanwhile the Oracle of Delphi here has it down as 3 years (a substantial difference for such a key milestone).

I struggle to understand how people can have hundreds of posts on this board and still not grasp the point re. the 5% not being transferable to the SP (and doing the 60m* 20 to reach 1.2 bil). Come on lads - it's not complicated mathematics...
