And, going back to the point, why can’t we just pump/keep/store OUR own oil/gas in OUR own country…like we used to, to make sure WE had enough should the sh*t ever hit the fan? Sell the surplus at market rate, sure…

From what I read earlier the EU figure fluctuates between 15-25% depending on the year. The US has steadily reduced its Middle East oil. If we have any sense we’d do the same, and reopen our oil and gas fields in the North Sea and stop paying the Norwegians a premium to sell it to us…

Question for the more enlightened on this specific topic, why couldn’t we use our oil and gas domestically at our own price, instead of having to price it in international terms? The reason the net zero brigade tell us why reopening the oil fields would be pointless in terms of bringing down prices.

My point is CP, how else should it have been dealt with?
