Morning JD,
Of course!
Kay Burley - She is a horrible, horrible person…
The French - History…
I don’t trust Trump, or any other politician for that matter, he was the least worst choice out of the available candidates. And they all lie JD, that is not exclusive to Trump.
I do however agree with stopping illegal migration, DEI, Woke, etc and that he realises that the US must dramatically change course to compete with China going forward. That involves securing gas, oil, critical, rare earths and precious metals and trying to bring back manufacturing/processing to US. If the US does well, it drags Europe behind it, historically at least.
Whether it works in the long term remains to be seen, but at least he’s trying, and not just prattling on about the failed World Order that only empowers our enemies.
It was failing the west miserably long before Trump arrived on the scene.
Brexit I agree has been an abject failure, but not out of concept, it’s because the British political class, helped by the EU, wouldn’t allow it to happen…still won’t. Worse, the EU want to punish us for that vote, and there appears to be a push to go back to closer alignment with the EU again, which would be disastrous for us in my view, as we’d lose all the previous benefits of membership, and I genuinely don’t see any advantage of being in…the last 50ish years of membership only weakened this country, that, I don’t think can be denied…
I believe the EU is, and always has been, a doomed political venture, and the cracks are starting to show. To strap ourselves to the mast of that sinking ship would be a bad idea in my opinion.
If you think this country is in a good place, I really don’t know what to say…
Sir Richard Barrons said
“Today’s army… could do one very small thing, essentially it could seize a small market town on a good day.”
We can’t defend our overseas bases, and we’re borrowing battleships from the Germans ffs…
We are an international laughing stock.
