Morning Gerry, I have lived abroad for years, so out of the nitty gritty, but as far as I know, from the Providence, Barryroe & Landsdowne boards over they years, they are as bad/blind as the Greens against new oil & gas exploration licences, but I see no mention of honouring existing licences. If elected when money is wanted for their huge social programs, maybe we might see some very fresh thinking !!! :-) I also expect a Sinn Fein & Greens & other left parties have a 50+ % chance of forming the next government. LBW, I would suggest it is your good self that needs to do some more reading ! An Irish Dail term is for 5 yrs & it was agreed in 2020 that Fianna Fail's Michael Martin would be Taoiseach for the first 2 1/2 yrs, then it rotates to Fine Gael's Varadkar for the second 2 1/2 yrs. Varadkar has just stepped down, most unexpectedly, after 1 1/2 yrs, with european elections coming up fast & a General Election within the next 12 months. The future newly elected Fine Gael leader, will become the next Taoiseach for the remainder of this coalitions life.

I didn't post this during the week, to much Guercif going on, but here is another Predator problem / opportunity !!! Einstein Ryan has the ESB converting this 900MW Coal plant to Heavy Fuel Oil, (slightly less polluting) to "green wash" extending its life till 2029, when the site will "then" be closed & converted to windfarm use. "Allegedly" it would take too long to convert to gas & cost €150 M to build the necessary gas pipeline extension.

If only Ryan had the foresight to advance the gas licences around Corrib and/or if Mag Mell LNG gas deliveries had been taken up, maybe this wasteful, imported & still very polluting choice could have been avoided.
