The CO2 cannot be removed at Bellanaboy, as you would need a full upgrade to H2 gas networks & all homes, cookers, gas boilers, power stations, turbines, cars, trucks & buses using gas, modified, if even possible to H2 & by 2030 :-)
Co-Pilot AI - Here is a structured breakdown of methane gas (natural gas) use in Ireland as of 2025, covering supply origins, transfer mechanisms, LNG and fracked gas exposure, and consumption by sector and use type:
### ๐ฎ๐ช Supply Origins
| Source | Estimated Share (2025) | Notes |
|--------------------------------|-------------------------|-----------------------------------------------------------------------|
| **UK Interconnector (Moffat)** | ~75โ80% | Main supply route; includes UK North Sea and imported LNG. |
| **Corrib Gas Field (Ireland)** | ~20โ25% | Domestic offshore source; declining output. |
| **Biomethane** |
