Already benefitting from the recent events.... I did a little research on their website...never seen so many flights sold-out, added to which, the prices of the flights that have seats available are invariably looking extremely high, indicating they have few seats actually available.... This is a bonanza time for EZJ and profits will be stacking up by the day...maybe even a profit for the winter season, although that is probably me getting carried away... ...

Without diminanhing the distress caused and the job losses with Monarch's demise, this will most certainly bolster EZJ's revenues but will also avail RYA of a number of pilots...

I was surprised to read that as recent rumours were that EZJ were possibly reducing the number of planes at LPL

Daytrade, think the slots have to be purchased from the "owner" i.e. RYA... Also, don't think EZJ have the capacity (pilots) to take up too many new routes... There is a pilot shortage and the problem is not unique to RYA, just more so...

Building up nicely to the results...maybe something leaked already...

Can see a big big rise next week... Obviously in the short term (next 6 weeks) customers will be steering clear of booking with Ryanair and going with EZJ amongst others... And in the long term they have lost credibility and customers will migrate to other carriers on a permanent basis... I am surprised they have actually come clean as they have been cancelling flights for months without making any image/brand busting announcements... Their hand must have been forced somehow or other as it is basically suicidal to have done so.......not only will they lose revenue with the cancellations, they will also have a cost in terms of compensation...and to make matters worse they will have reduced bookings for the flights that do operate... Thats their problem and bodes well for EZJ in every respect....so looks good for the next few months...for both business and the SP..... Would be excellent PR for EZJ to announce extra flights for "distressed" RYA passengers !! Always fatal to forecast numbers but if I can catch this one early Monday before any significant rise in the SP I will definitely be loading up......just in the process of shaking my piggy bank,,,,!!

To be honest, if they are not very positive then I am out because if they cannot improve the bottom line in this current "cyber-attack" environment then they never will.... However, I am confident we will be seeing exceptional results....

No.....just stick with the FT and Trustnet....enough reading to get through from day to day... Not all of it too informative....case of reading between many lines so as to speak... Yes...looking forward to interims, although, they appear to announce bigger losses each year, having said that, you can expect that in the early years, but the "growth industry" they are in entails they need to be reducing these big time as of now.....

Buying and selling can also manipulate the market....its not a "technique" unique to shorting...

Again, very much an assumption, would imagine the number of "borrowers" not buying or selling before returning them would be very limited as the SP would have to be the same each time... Having said that, the more I think about it the more I suspect there is an opportunity for the lender and the borrower to operate outside of the system and avoid duty altogether...

Not an area of expertise but I thought the shorter firstly, borrowed the stock, sold it and then when it suits bought it back and then returns it to the lender.... Therefore they have paid duty on the transactions in between the borrowing and return of the stock....and additional duty when borrowing would be an additional penalty... Is my assumption correct ?
