CITRA intends to contract EQTEC to execute the works in accordance with a quotation which EQTEC has supplied to CITRA which is to be finalised immediately after the PPA has been obtained by CITRA. The scope of supply of EQTEC will include two complete gasification lines with 4,5 tons per hour feeding rate each, four GE Jenbacher syngas engines, ancillary equipment as well as commissioning and start-up services.

The World Bank forecasts that by 2025 municipal solid waste will increase by 72%. Current oversaturated waste disposal infrastructures would not be able to cover the required needs, which added to inefficient methods make the problem worse. Estimates expect the world urban population to increase from 3bn in 2010 to around 7.6bn by 2025, which will make the total waste generation increase from 3.5m tons/day to 6.1m tons/day. Moreover, a study provided by the Steinbeiss Europe Zentrum Institute (SEZ) has estimated that the business potential of RDF usage as an energy source in Europe is ?36bn; that is, without taking into account all the potential coming from developing economies, with increasing urban areas and a rising demography.

Chief Executive’s Report - continued Outlook
2018 is a promising year for Eqtec. We expect to sign the contracts and subsequently start design and construction of two waste to energy gasification facilities in UK as well as two other projects overseas. All these four projects are in a well-advanced stage of negotiations with the clients and the EPC Contractors.
We will also see starting of the manufacturing activities in our ongoing project in Poland, where together with our partners at the POLYGEN Consortium, we aim to produce bio – Synthetic Natural Gas (bioSNG) in 2019, opening a new vast market opportunity for our Eqtec Gasifier Technology which will be used not only to produce syngas on a power and heat facility but to produce clean and renewable fuels as bioSNG which will be injected into the grid.
