RE: Pin drop24 May 2021 13:16
From the interview with Zak, she thought "A couple of hundred market cap, to start with."
And that the company: "Can be really serious." I take that to mean if it is allowed to get further along the potential curve.
They'll need a year+ for the R and D, (May 2022 at the least before applying for the commercial license, timeline at present anyway) but plenty of newsflow in the meantime. They will keep shareholders in the loop at every stage of growing process and what they achieve "in micro". (Not mentioned, but have to assume other news will occur for ANA's other assets and their progress throughout the year.)
Eco-friendly process, robust economics, 40 hectares, capex not huge. Not needing much heat/light indoors, and UK good for growing conditions.
Grants available if needs be so don't have to dilute shareholders. Directors plenty of skin in game as well, nearly 50%. Rest supported by SIPP/ISA holders. Melissa has met analysts from pension funds, who have expressed an interest in getting involved with the medical cannabis sector. But they are still a bit twitchy atm because of the proceeds of crime Act.
ANA is not the only one with a Home Office license to grow medical grade cannabis but but she knows f no other company doing what they are doing - stabilising strains/field trials to become commercial.
Other things:
Zak's team all pro-Cannabis, "We want to add more science", "Overall wellbeing effects", "Create a premium product", "Dubious qualities of imported CBDs/med-grade cannabis (dried and so can lose volatiles) is an issue for the UK, so this way we will have our own premium grade crops. Plant to patient in shorter time frames", Zak flirting. And asking her back. ;)
It was a really good interview.
